Well I could say because Spyro is in all games. (Well you could play as him.) and there is also Malefor,Cynder,and Sparx. Also it's a spin off.

In one level I believe an NPC references Malefor, and then says "spoilers!" right after, hinting at him having a real appearance in the game, and a Malefor Skystone can be collected in game too.

Cynder fine? Also using a DA artwork that a fan made to ask why is Skyro ugly?

To me Cynder is not really good looking. She looks like a milf of dragon than a dragon dragon. They basically added a crest pattern shaped like breasts and tinted her color to a violet instead of black. They pretty much literally Jinxed her design. If anyone out of the female dragon Skylanders, Flashwing and Whirlwind look more like dragons than Cynder.

That's not a real picture from in game, or even real artwork, that ones fan made. Even though it does look similar

She's a half-pint cartoon dragon, with a general "elegant yet twisted" theme to her appearance, and also looks a bit like an eagle. She's also not even an adult.

How do you get "MILF" from that?

Also she doesn't look like she has breasts, I don't get where this comes from. Her chest is buff in Skylanders, not busty. Because ya know, dragons be stronk.

You were not here in 2011 when the game was first announced.

Loads of people on the site condemned the game entirely because Spyro looked ugly to them.

I really don't think he looks that bad at all, and the original image everyone whines about wasn't even the final one used in SSA

The reason Cynder looks a little strange here is because they're using "Phantom Cynder"
I'm feeling a little strange having to explain this in S&N

Skyro is still the worst Spyro design IMO (I'm sorry but he looks like a pug...he also has yellow paws which doesn't help the canine comparison), but it's grown on me and I think it's tolerable. I also drew it once when it was first announced.

Also the Series 2 figure looks decently cute.

^He still looks the same in the comics, but we did get to sorta see TLOS Spyro in Skylanders. I guess that's what it's supposed to be:

Also Skyro is roughly based off of TLOS Spyro (and that pose in the first panel there is a clear reference to DotD artwork), but they aren't one and the same. Same with Cynder and Malefor. It's a different take on the same, rough premise.

I still think Skylanders Spyro is a better design than at least DotD Spyro, if not all of LoS Spyros.

I was meaning the one that looked like TLOS spyro, with longer horns and different snout is only used when talking about Spyro's backstory in that issue. The rest of them use this design:

They weren't drawing him to look like DotD Spyro, that's just simple artist inconsistency, a common thing in comics.

One of the reasons I think Skylanders Spyro looks terrible in the comics is because of that though - it's like they can't decide on what his face looks like.

Yeah, Fico Ossio is the only one that got Spyro drawn consistently, though the colorist screws up consistently. That cover up there for Superchargers is him too.



He seems to have gone for a style where his snout is pointing up all the time,so it looks flat from the front but is longer than the ingame model from the sides.
