When it rings do you open the door for uninvited guests or do you ignore them until they leave?

I answer the door since it could be the USPS/UPS guy.

That'd be a pretty jerkish thing to do. Though to be fair there's never someone truly uninvited since it's usually the neighbors we know.

I'm not fond of strangers coming on my property. Sometimes they are people trying to sell something. If they came to my face, I would say "If I were to buy something, I'd go out and get it myself if I felt like it" and slam the door. Are people really going to advertise in MY house? This is my house. I am safe here.

I must admit that I am quite a jerk when it comes down to answering doorbell. If someone who I know on very shallow basis rings my doorbell uninvited I will not open, sometimes in uninvited situations I just ignore the whole thing. Of course exception to this rule is made when the one who rings the bell is someone I really know and like (friends, family).

Of course if I have planned meeting with my closest ones or house maintenance people, I will answer the doorbell. On other occasions I just ignore it. So there you are…

I hide and pretend that nobody is home.

Most of the time I hide and ignore them but then there's my dog barking crazy.

I never answer. My parents tell me not to

if im home alone yea but if my moms here i get her to answer it

i check to see if i recognize them or if i'm expecting someone first

I look out this one way peephole, and if it's someone I know, then yes.

I stare out the little hole thingy in the door to make sure it's not a murderer. Mostly it's the UPS guy and will open it because wonderful japanese figures

I always do, unless it's my sister's friend or my parents' friend.

Generally, yes, unless someone else is closer to the door whom I know will answer it, or if I'm told not to for whatever reason.

We have one of those blurry windows on our front door, so I can tell if it's someone shady. Nobody rings at night either, unless it's my mother or brother after a night out when they forget their keys, or a rare instance where I order a pizza at night (as in 8-9PM).

I haven't personally ever run into anyone seriously shady at the door. The worst I get is people trying to sell or advertise for things that seem shady, but never anyone that seems dangerous.

Also one time the most typical Irish farmer rang my doorbell and asked me if I wanted to buy potatoes, in the most slurred accent and not really projecting himself properly. That's the strangest door call I've ever had, probably.

Also if I'm upstairs I might check out the window for a car or whatever. Most people we know would arrive in a car, so I'd know it's them. Also lets me see if it's the postman or if it's someone from a company or something.

Yep I do answer cause if they took the time to climb up all those damn stairs the least I can do is open the door to see who it is. Most of the time it's the pizza delivery guy or Chinese food delivery guy.

If it's someone talking about religion I politely tell them I'm not interested in their religion then close the door.

No one comes to my house cause its haunted.

It depends if I'm the only one home or not. If I'm not alone in the house then I answer it. If I'm alone I get very anxious and end up checking behind the curtains to see who it is first before answering. xD

Although we do have a special door in front of the main door that serves as protection, since it allows people inside the house to see the person, but the person can't see anything behind the door. But I keep forgetting that it's there for that purpose. xD

My door has one of those peek holes or whatever they're called, if he's wearing a uniform then I normally answer it but if he's not then I just ignore it.
although if its a girl scout or something of the sort I smack the thing across the face and slam the door.

yeah, I open it. It's usually my friends from round the corner, the Amazon delivery people or my neighbour though
