Math was my best subject. A+ always. It is a lot like a video game where once you learn how to play it (and never forget), it's becomes very easy as you'll repeat the same processes over and over again to reach your goal. I always get a sense of self worth and knowing I done a good job whenever I correctly answered something. Numbers are quite fun like that because they are so black and white and consistantly concise about their answers. Basically if you love puzzle video games, then Math will totally be your thing.

It's crap like History and Health that I hated as those classes are pure remembering countless facts and details which serves almost no purpose in real life. They continue dumping dry boring stuff upon you daily for no reason other than to challenge your ability to remember. After a few weeks it becomes too much and I end up using cheat sheets for the rest of the year as I couldn't be bothered to learn any more of their useless crap. Back then, I spent my precious free time video gaming instead of attempting to remember stuff which I'd never use beyond that one test. At least with Math you'd use those skills for years to come in future classes. History not so much...

I appreciate what math can do, but I personally find it boring. I'm not going to have much of a use for the more complicated things you have to learn later on so it's hard to power through it, especially because it becomes harder and harder for me to understand.

This.School just makes it boring.

My ****ing teacher. He doesn't teach good at ****ing all. He's great one on one, but can't teach a class. He ****ing goes and makes us read the book and doesn't give us notes. Like, how the **** am i supposed to understand that!? Then he doesn't even care if you understand it and just shoves homework in your face. Plus, he gives a test THE DAY AFTER HE GIVES A MOTHER****ING QUIZ! wow, you didn't do well on the quiz and want to see what you did wrong and learn from it? ahahah don't be stupid, here's a test on the exact same **** that was on the quiz so you can fail again! I ****ing hate this math class and it's a giant ****ing joke.

ALSO ADVANCED MATH DOESN'T MEAN YOU GO THROUGH 5 LESSONS A WEEK INCLUDING 2 QUIZS AND A TEST

I love algebra, but unless you're going into some extremely scientific or mathematical job career, I don't see the point in learning geometry or algebra. smilie Which brings me to the thought I always come back to: school subjects need to be looked into and recategorized. We should learn more practical things so we can actually survive in life and only take these advanced things if we show interest in that kind of job...

I don't hate maths cause I don't take maths anymore. ART SCHOOL *****ES.

For real tho, even in high school I didn't hate maths. I didn't like it either, but I was good at it. I was in the top class tho, so the teachers and kids were all pretty good too. I'm way more consistently good at maths and things, anything with like black and white wrong/right answers. With essays it's just, is this going to get an A or a F? We just don't know.

This,so much. Most of my teachers were amazing, and before art school ate everything I remembered I could probably tell you about trigonometry and whatnot easily. But when I screwed up something otherwise super easy like an equation in the middle of a more complex excercise, I'd just get too frustrated to enjoy anything; and my short attention span means this happened a LOT. If it was just about math theories I'd probably be really good at it ._.

I actually enjoyed math when I had the motivation to do it. I enjoyed the certainties of the answers and different ways to reach them. It was not until I hit the brick wall of advanced special studies in trigonometry and differential calculus when I started to realize that my mind had its limits. The way mathematics develops one’s own thinking and problem solving capabilities is a tremendous one and it is truly a shame that I haven’t carried out doing math problems in my free time after my most recent stint in educational facility.

I'm not going to say I suck at math; I'm above average, and I could be very good at it if I applied myself.

But, I don't want to fully apply myself because I hate math. It's dreadfully mundane.

Pretty much this - she explains things in really roundabout ways that don't always make sense, and if we need help she just goes on and explains the part you've already done/know how to do and makes you feel stupid whilst taking ages to actually explain the answer.
(Plus she only spends a small portion of the time on us - spends most of it working with the students in the year level above us in our class and they're really disruptive and make it hard to concentrate :/)
