Am I using the Dank Meme thing wrong? I always thought it was a term used for old memes that lost their popularity. Like Nyan Cat. I read the KYM page of Dank Memes and it said it's making fun of memes that are not funny anymore, so I'm going to assume it's about old memes. Now I'm seeing Dank Meme subjects that use the ones like MLG, Mountain Dew, etc. So now I'm thinking THOSE are what Dank Memes are.

So was I wrong? Have I completely misunderstood Dank Memes? I honestly thought they were about old memes based on how I read the KYM page.

The main use of the word "Dank" nowadays in meme terms is mostly in connection to the whole MLG craze going on right now, the KYM page might be a little outdated. Don't know for sure though.

People have been using 'dank meme' ironically for overrated memes more than anything from what I can see, but considering how widespread the term got I don't even know anymore if it's actually satire.
