See all those creepy uncanny valley images? Why isn't there one at it's worst with photo-realistic faces suddenly having eyes pop out, the mouth stretched out wide with a giant snake tongue and one huge eye pops out of the forehead and comes out in 3D like the Eye of Sauron. How about an uncanny valley face that glitches like the AssCreed Unity faces or how those nazis died in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Because such details kinda already break the illusion and so it's not in the uncanny valley compared to a face that looks close to photorealistic but also isn't quite human.

^Yeah but if the face is so uncomfortably realistic, anything crazy happens would be consistent to the design. Unlike live action, where you can tell what's real and what's not even with good practical and/or digital effects, it's still fiction and can't be replicated in real life, that's where animation and a consistent art direction works or at least deliberately invoking the uncanny valley to have people screaming when it looks like the realistic person is suddenly able to something like have a horse come out of his or her ass or just about any of Jim Sterling's film-pitch ideas for Willem Dafoe. Why just simply replicate real life when you can make whatever you want to happen?

Let's break the illusion but make it as terrifying as possible like it's Neon Genesis or Akira.
