How long do you think the human race would survive? [CLOSED]

Like what the title says smilie

For me I think the next 200 years will be very hard for humans; but if we can get past the dwindling resources, and head out to the stars. We might survive for a very, very long time. Who knows we might be able to escape before the earth dies, or maybe heat death of the universe....

So what do you think?

I'd say around 2050-2100, when demand finally outpaces supply due to the growing population of the world. Then the world should pretty much break down, or at least the human race will. I think most animals will be able to stay alive in the world far longer than humans due to the type of food they eat compared to humans. My two cents have been given.

I can survive scalding hot coffee and being whipped for 24 hours a day. Digestive biscuits or riot.

i hope we shut down all nuclear power plants before dying out because otherwise most of the animals are gonna go down with us

Hmm, not sure honestly. Though, I'm sure America will fall soon as Democracies usually only last for around 200 years and we're beyond that.

Really depends on how far we go with synthetic foods, renewable energy, and above all else space travel.

If we can work those things out we can last for thousands of years. If not and we continue at the current rate with no attempt to move out of Earth, maybe a couple hundred more.

I think we're just getting started. Though we do have some problems that we need work out, people often tend to dramatize things and overestimate the threats that we face as a species. Sometimes they're just being pessimistic, but more often than that they simply seem to lack the required information to put things in perspective.

I think if humanity goes into space and somehow is able to live on another planet, there's a high chance of surviving for a long long time.

The world isn't going anywhere. We can't really destroy Earth. It'll always be here (except for the rare cases I don't feel like listing). Humanity is a different matter though. And I doubt America will be gone in 15 years.

Hm.

1.The Sun burns us all up (in many billion years)
2.Economy is permenantly ruined, many die (~2050, race probably won't end)
3.All Earth humans die, but we have deep space and Mars colonies (2200~ish)

These all sound like ideas for the next Ayreon album... smilie

Anyways, I suggest the human race will advance to an in-recognizable (using today's standards for defining intelligence) superior being in 5 billion years that may even have the knowledge and technology to somehow preserve the earth maybe by moving it or even preventing the sun from dying.

It's impossible to predict where human kind, or what's left of it may be in billions of years time.

Temporarily putting aside any belief of a Second Coming happening some time in the future, I'd say about;

a couple hundred years or so?

Possibly around a thousand, but that's at the most.
