No. You can play the game for as long as you like the game truly. Peer pressure is no excuse to ever stop liking what you like,if it's not causing harm to anyone. Age really doesn't change if you like destroying bad guys as a cool character,figures or not.

I've been thinking, because all of my friends like GTA, COD, etc. But I'm going to stay with skylanders for at least this year. Thanks smilie

You can like more than one series,if they like that and so do you just play those other games when you feel like it - and SC isn't even out, maybe they'll like it as well with the racing part.

Age is but a number. They advertise Skylanders as family games, meaning anyone of any age can enjoy them so long as they're in the right mentality.

Here's my stance. I'm a 23 year old guy who loves skylanders, pokemon, kirby and Sonic the Hedgehog but then I also love games like destiny, dragon age, kingdom hearts, with the grand daddy of my favorites being Dead Space. I play a game because I enjoy it and have fun with it, not because my friends play it or because the age recommended on the box. Play what you love and you'll be happy.

You are worried and have 12 years?

Think about this.
I'm almost 20 and yet enjoy Skylanders as much as a kind would probably do.
But I also love Doctor Who, Zelda, Marvel movies, LEGO games, and much more ranging from mature and more childish stuffs.

Never consider yourself too old if you really like something. smilie

I'm 22 and I still like Skylanders, Pokemon, Disney, My Little Pony etc.

When I was 12 years old, I got back into Pokemon (I lost interest in it as I was getting into Spyro at age 9), but I was a bit worried that I was getting too old for it until I saw teens and adults on the internet who still like it.

The older you get, the less you care what others think and it's up to you what games you want to play. If anyone tries to make you feel bad for liking something harmless such as a video game, especially if it isn't for your target demographic, then they shouldn't be worth your time.

I've never played Skylanders but I'm 16 and still play the original Spyro games and was told at 10 by friends that I was too old to play them. lolnoep. Age doesn't matter, just do what you enjoy doing smilie

I'm with everyone else on this. I'm 16, almost 17 and I absolutely love franchises like Skylanders. Don't give into the social norms of playing games like Call of duty and Battlefield in your teenage years. Be an individual, do what you want, not what others want you to do. When I was 13, people asked me if I wanted to play Call of Duty with them, I said that I don't have it and I play skylanders. Sure, they thought I was weird but isn't being weird a good thing? Don't be a sheep, be your own person. You're an individual, you're unique - embrace it!

I'm almost 19 years old and i like Skylanders. It's like no one or nothing is stopping you for liking or playing Skylanders.

I'm just going to be repeating what everyone else has said, but I'll say it anyway:

Play what you want. You shouldn't care what others think. If they mind that much then that's their problem.

I, like others, enjoy Skylanders (Among other things, such as Pokemon, Zelda, Sonic, etc etc...), and I'm 18. Age really shouldn't be an issue, but for some it is, and that's something they need to work out themselves.

You can play any game you feel you enjoy. Don't let people tell you what you can and can't play. Play whatever you want. You can delve into multiple genres of games if you feel you want to, and find the right balance of what you think is fun. I’m 16 years old now, and i still play Spyro, Zelda, Mario and other kids' games. Mostly I enjoy 3D platform collect-a-thons, but I also enjoy Wide Open Sandbox as well. Find whatever play styles you would enjoy. I support you’re decision to continue playing Skylanders!
