Yeah. I heard about it yesterday. The damage is like, huge

Also, Mesu@: Unfortunally, they havn't. Yesterday I heard on the news at least more than 20 people didn't survive the explosion, many have been injured and there are still people missing. I also heard people all the way 3 to 4 KM away had their windows broken etc. Almost half the city is a rampage right now... D:

I hope they get to the bottom of this and figure out why this happened.

Unfortunately I wouldn't put it past the Chinese government to make it sound like it wasn't as bad as it really was (e.g. lower the death toll).

To my knowledge, they were handling dangerous/unstable materials but nobody expected there to be any explosion. It was otherwise supposed to just be any normal night for the people in the area.

If it's any sign, there's a video where someone who was streaming online and was pretty much in part of the explosions.

because it was one of the biggest terrorist attacks in recent history. not too many are taking it seriously nowadays.

Proof? It was on the news, at least 56 people died in the explosion and many more injured.
Just because people do one thing, doesn't mean it's right,
Yeah people joke about 9/11, people joke about a lot of other things, doesn't justify it at all.

Also people talk about 9/11 because like it or not, a terrorist attack from a small group of rebels that managed to take down the World Trade Center (read: a major part of global or at least national finance and the two largest buildings in the US at the time) changed the course of history forever, akin to Pearl Harbor or the atomic bombs. A lot of the US' foreign policies, security measures, and spying programs are all a result of those attacks. Not to mention the attacks are why we even started the War on Terror, a huge conflict that is still ongoing today in some form and has helped wreck havoc on the Middle East.

You have to be out of your mind to pretend that 9/11 didn't make a massive impact on the world and many, many lives. It's such a big deal that "where were you on 9/11?" is a question many people have heard and know their own answers to.

I'd also argue many perceived freedoms were lost as a result of that attack. Pre/911 and Post/911 is like oil and water in terms of who we are and how we define ourselves.
