The way you said it was sorta passive aggressive, not to mention it was irrelevant to bring it up in this topic.



Passive aggressive? I won't blame you for interpreting it that way. I get it, it's a text based forum. If we were all talking in person I probably could have genuinely sounded like I was trying to make a point.

saying that only true americans are the ones that are born in america is a very xenophobic sounding belief that goes against the idea of the american dream and completely disregards the struggle of immigrants to leave their homeland to find a place where they are intended to be accepted and treated as though that was their homeland all along.

america is a homogenized batch of immigrants from everywhere, not an exclusionary group that one has to be born into.

and i'm not even ****ing patriotic and i can come up with political speech worthy material like that

If I recall correctly, he was born in India.

He lived in Jamaica for a time, too.

We've accepted him as one of our own. So yes, he is an American.

And he's a good friend.
