Since no one is giving an in-depth explanation, here you go.

dark52 used rejected S&H as part of a coin system you had to pay money to. You were given 1,000 starting coins to spend on crap. The only one obtainable was the custom titles. Others from what I can recall were larger avatar sizes, images in sigs, even personal forums. These were impossible to obtain though due to reasons I will explain later in this post. Regular stuff like posting costed 2 coins, changing avatar costed 15, and signature change was 25. Coins were also buyable with actual cash from the Coin Shop. The service never existed in the first place, thus no one was able to buy coins. There was also a gem conversion service, which I believe also never worked either.

It did but nobody had enough coins to get the 2nd perk. Alice would only need 100 more coins to get it. I'm pretty sure the other options did nothing.
