It's not really fully implemented, the Custom Titles, it could become permanent but it was obviously meant just for April 1st

I support them being added, but doubt it...

It seems interesting considering that there's no option to donate to help support the site anywhere at all. Never has been as far as I understand. The coins seem like something kind of fun to have if it were to be kept. Excluding the 2 coins to post, naturally. That would push people away from using the site at all.

From what I can assume, Dark hasn't wanted people to donate to the site. He seems content with funding it on his own and I'm personally fine with it since we don't run into any problems or things like features being locked behind a pay wall.

Honestly, I think I preferred darkRipto as an April Fools joke, but I do like the features of this one. Not so much the whole coin business, but the extra features such as custom titles, larger avatar sizes, etc.

It's hardly common knowledge, its common misconception and the fact that Moneybags is becoming overrated merely because the bear is the theme of this recent site update. I'm sure users would like Ripto just as much if he was more topical at the moment, Moneybags may overshadow Ripto, but it's hardly an indication of superiority.

Really the only features that would be worth keeping of the ones listed in the coin shop are the Title and Avatar size increase. Username changes should just be handled on a case-by-case basis, assuming name changes are even possible on this site's system.

In any case I think such small aesthetic abilities for supporters is kind of a nice feature. There's this site called Everypony for which there's a donation and all a person gets for it is a little pip that says contributor. Really small way of just saying "hey thanks for the support to the site."

Better than the huge obvious changes of special flashy profiles for contributors like EqF/FiM had/has, with increased image size, glowy name, site currency for the shop, access to an otherwise hidden section, an extra "like" button, etc. That's all just a little much, but I guess it's a way to make buying a subscription "worth" getting.

They added a new tier called Royalty. It's $400 and a few people actually bought it. Including someone who ended up becoming a staff member anyway. The tier includes another extra "like" button that can only be used once a day and adds 20 reputation to the recipient.
