when i was eating a piece of a chicken, i was wondering this question. is it possible to sustain on living, with out taking another's life?

Yeah, honey.

Or, If you want to get technical, you could be born, live for only 3 hours, and then die. In that time period, you would've survived without eating anything alive.

No, it's not. Your body needs amino acids and various other natural organic compounds to stay alive. These compounds are formed by the plants and the animals that we eat. It's as simple as that.

Or well, okay. It is theoretically possible to construct these compounds artificially, but that would require a vast amount of resources, and thus would not be a very practical way of sustaining yourself.

No. Even if you were to make artificial meats and plants to eat, they had to come from the DNA structure of what is likely a dead organism.

I think eating is like 28, drinking is 4.
