I think that the drama of S&N can be connected to subjects which are controversial and are highly dependent on different views of philosophy and principle. So actually those topics belong to Idle Chatter for who-knows sake! So every serious subject should be handled in Idle Chatter, not in Stuff and Nonsense.

But in all honesty, I think that this forum should abolish strict policy of political correctness. If things are too PC, discussion and evolution of non-tangible discussion matters will eventually die. Political correctness is eventually a concept that limits too much and is as fake as creatures of cryptozoology.

We should be able to say controversial things around here. The thing is to react in mature manner in to those controversial statements and have a serious discussion. By doing that we ensure that people will learn different points of view and approaches to various variable matters. At least that is what I think.

I think both of us already hold this matter in our hearts, why don't we turn it to actions? What do you say?

We could slowly start diverting more and more serious discussions to Idle Chatter, and treat controversial subjects like any other subjects.
At first this would include simply posting more topics on Idle chatter. Maybe nothing more is needed, as I'm sure anyone who would like to see more of such discussions would join in.
This would make it significantly easier for users to find the kind of conversation that they want to see.

Debate-heavy topics could also enstablish some sort of guidelines for arguing. Maybe using the logical fallacy chart. Of course, this would be optional, but it should help in keeping debates honest.
