My cat which has lived with me for the last 5 years died yesterday. Can I get a smashbros U.S Demo code? It would cheer me up

i would feel sympathy, but setting out a sob story to get a ssb code really isn't the way to go.

He really did died! His name was Butterball the third and he was a tabby

Isn't it nice to use the death of your cat for personal gain?

In some ways I want to be sympathetic in every way possible, since I understand where he could be coming from if he's telling the truth.

But at the same time I don't think I can really muster that up right now.

For one thing it didn't help that some users here were basically rubbing in everyone's faces that they got to play Smash before the rest of us. Of course somebody is going to get jealous and want a code. If you run on the streets yelling "OH YEAH I CAN PLAY SMASH IT'S SO GREAT' no **** someone is going to want to do the same.

Also if his cat really did die I do think a kind gesture like this would really bring up his spirits.

That being said he shouldn't be outright asking for it or joking about it.

If I didn't ask for a cheer me up gift then nobody would think "Oh he lost his cat? I should totally give him a code to make up for it."

It should still be up to the person to decide if they want to give you a spare code to make you feel better.

I understand that it's Smash, and I understand that you lost your cat, and I understand that some people have been gloating about being able to play Smash. But outright asking for it only caused trouble and just makes it less likely that somebody will want to give you a code.

Everybody goes through bad things. I just went through a breakup. Doesn't mean I can ask people to give me a Smash code or give me money to repair my 3DS so I can use that Smash code.

Fine here's a code. Use it before somebody else.

the demo goes public in less than a week now and october 3rd isnt that far off anyway, nobody will care about the demo by then

if you really want a code, go take effort into hunting for one and participating in giveaways
bad things happen to everyone and presents aren't handed out to everyone who's really sad

I have been going into the effort, while I wait for posts on this thread I am looking for one on other sites

Is the demo even online enabled? I wouldn't think it is.

Oh wow then yeah maybe it's ideal to just wait that week instead of outright asking for one because his cat died.

I personally don't care that much. My 3DS has been busted for months and I need to send it in for repairs, and I want to play Smash on release day so it's a brand new special experience.

To be completely and utterly fair................................I nearly died waiting for Portal 2 before release.

And when somebody goes around showing off how they got the demo while others don't, you can't fault somebody for wanting in on the action. He just went about it the wrooooong way.

i know the feel of being completely hyped for a game and going to extreme lengths to get your hands on it, i've been there, but he did go about it the wrong way
