I know this is meant to be just wordplay, but I think we shouldn't take an achievement of a group of individuals driven by personal agendas and accept it as an achievement of humankind as a collective.

Because an achievement is a subjective thing, for someone to think highly of something demands a point of view that enables that kind of thinking.

Also, our capability to kill off our entire race has existed for as long as our race has existed. I think that the fact that we haven't done that to ourselves is just entirely logical and completely mundane.
