My turtle has an ear abscess [CLOSED]

He has a huge bump on his face. SO after doing some research, it turns out he has an ear abscess that is very painful to the turtle.
So I told my mom that he needs to go to the vet and this was her exact response-
"No. Not happening"
And she says that I don't take care of the pets!

EDIT: My mom has informed me that we can't do it today, but maybe in a few days.

TURTLE UPDATE:
The abscess doesn't appear to be getting smaller, but it isn't growing either.
I'll have to talk to my mom about taking him to a vet.

Damn, that sucks. What makes them think it's a waste of money to take the turtle to the vet? Is it because it's not like a cat or a dog?
Because if that's the reason that's dumb. Ask them to take the turtle to the vet again. In fact, try informing them that the turtle is a living, breathing creature and that it is in pain and if it isn't taken to the vet soon, it'll die and they'll be to blame.

And all of the reasons they need vets are uncontrollable.
My turtle's ear abscess was caused due to bacteria. There isn't a way to prevent that.

I wasn't saying that those things could be prevented, I meant that if they refuse to take the animals to the vet when there's something wrong with them, that counts as not taking proper care of them. And it isn't right.

Well google what causes a turtle to get an ear abscess and prove that it wasn't your fault.
Also, there may be a way you could treat it yourself.



I already did.
I couldn't find a way I could treat it myself.

Also, my sister said she can try to take him on Monday. The vet is closed tomorrow.
Then again, it is probably closed on Labor Day

Tried 7 vets today. All were either closed or didn't deal with turtles. All vets closed tomorrow.
I will be putting betadine on abscess to help it. Abscess may cause blood poisoning. He may not survive.

Turtle will probably live.
The betadine solution seems to be helping and we will get him to a vet in a little more than 24 hours!

That turtle must really trust me.
When my sis tried to put the solution on him, he would not stop squirming.
When I did it, he wouldn't move a muscle.
