My game went to update, then pay the message sheep and I don't have the fire sanctum quest. Any advice on how to get him to appear? I've restarted both the app and ipod several times

I had to manually go to the Play store and update the App to get mine to trigger.

There was an app update in the app store over the weekend, for whatever reason. I say you might have to have it to get the latest update.

It triggered for me without having to collect from Orville. In another thread, a number of others also mentioned that they were able to save their Orville collection until after the quest started.

Mine hasn't triggered yet, but I just noticed that there is an update in the App Store (for iPhone). The update is dated July 30, 2014, for version 1.9.2.

EDIT: Quest appeared as soon as I launched the game after the update.

Our collecting from Orville showed up on Sunday (but the update and quest didn't show until Monday)

I purposefully held off collecting the Sunday until after dinner to start the clock so that we would have the quest BEFORE collecting. It worked!

collect from Orville
4/15
Collect from Fire Sanctuary
8/20
Send skylanders on Fire Adventures
DONE

Plus we managed to finally get the 15M to upgrade the summoning stone so our 2nd collect from Orville was double duty (Collect from upgraded SS)

Wowy thats was quick . Whats the rush ? If you play everyday you can complete the quest with several days to spare .

How long did it take you to save 15 million ? I am very slowly saving up 10 M for a boathouse .

Obviously you used TT. The adventures are always the easiest and I usually get them first (or maybe the sanctuary). It's the waiting on Orville part that's tedious, but I refuse to do TT unless I'm forced to for some reason. I used to all the time, but now I've vowed not to.

Yeah, I agree - they could patch in something anytime that will completely break kingdoms that time travel. I mean that one is easy, they could check after re-syncing and see who has the sanctum in 14 days or less - which should be impossible. I've put in far too much time cultivating my kingdom to risk it to complete a quest I should finish in plenty of time anyways. Over the course of the game time travelling has many "bumps" and "issues", who knows if they will at some point completely fix it and bug out everyone that uses it. The challenge of the game for me is to succeed within the rules it sets, and sometimes that means I miss a sale (or availability) on a companion because I don't have enough gems, or checking it every morning for 15 days straight then so be it.

But, it is up to the player to do with their own game. It doesn't appear to cause harm, right now. But, it does allow things that would otherwise require money spent on gems to do - so they can't be happy about it.

Not quite sure how long it actually took. On july 4th when we got Ol' Mac it only took us a couple days to get to over 1M potions. I don't think you can really save that kind of money if you're still dropping 200K on dromedilions 1-2 times a day. But then in the last 3 weeks it got to where we had 2M potions and were gaining almost 700K every day. Because we were using the sanctums 2 times a day and NOT buying anything or planting anything.
We didn't go straight to the summoning stone...First we built a boat house. We had already built several of the acorn houses so we could easily get the circus, then when we had plenty of Mabu, just kept sending skylanders to rampart ruins for 2-3 hours a couple times a day. I'd say it took about 2 weeks to get the stone upgraded.

That Ol Mac does plug up a leaky hole that indeed eats a quarter of my loot . I should consider getting him if he comes back and i got to claim all those gems that were meant for Rufus .

Today's Super Tuesday was strange.

It started out as collect gems from Orville every hour which sped up the sanctum quest.

They must have realised that this was an unintentioned consequence and switched to half price spins for Skylanders.

managed to get 6 skylanders--we have a pretty good cash-flow, but still couldn't net much more than a total of 15M today (started at 6M--so we managed to get 9M today)
but this will be a good boost

would still like to get a wood stack house, though!

we still have several skylanders to "get" but I'm not really sure that "getting them all " first is much of a priority--we like being able to roll or trade for them during lulls in playtime. Although, I am happy to report that we just hit 2K gems and should be ready if Diggs returns during Labor Day!

We got Leg Trigger Happy, and may get one more before nthe sale is over--but like I said Complete-ness isn't a priority. the boys like watching them level up so if we do a bunch at once they get bored with the game quickly

I spun for a Skorp on Monday .

Swoppers are serious cash flow plush if you have Gorm and Tuk . I would make them a priority too .

Technically under the " buy things what give you gems rule " , skylanders give gems and do missions which give more gems . I confess I find them more fun then a house and i dont really have a quibble spending gems on them .

I got my Sanctum today. It was actually a pain to rearrange my fire island to account for all the extra space it freed up! Kinda a "high class problem" but still....

DF, I personally don't think it makes sense to pay gems for skylanders, since they can be purchased for coins (through spins) or added via codes (either through purchase or trade).

Buying skylanders for gems does not fall into the "buy things what give you gems rule" because they don't generate enough gems to pay you back. Other items (like the giant houses, etc.) do ultimately generate more gems that you pay for them and so they're a better gem investment.

But I overthink this game, as anyone can tell you. As long as you're having fun, don't let me rain on your parade!

Well M73 for the most part i agree with you but it takes a while to make enough Seas of gold to spin for a skylander which is random and usually not my first choice and waiting to get to that point where you make so much gold that you can afford to spin once a week is literally most of one year assuming you farm everyday .

Consider i spend gems on a legendary and put him to work in a Hall of legends or a Swopper to complete my elemental requirements and take out Sugarbats . Thats a constant gem income. <Gem rule>

Personally i dont see a difference . You save gems on your skylander but spend gems on the house while currently i spend gems on the legendary skylander but use Wishstones to buy a Hall of legends .

The other advantage of paying gems for skylanders is the refund you get when you enter the code - so spending gems on skylanders could be considered an "investment" of gems rather than an actual spend.

Thanks Master fhoenix! I completely agree that the downside of spinning is that you have to be patient if you're looking for specific skylanders, and it's very hard to spin for the "good" ones (the ones with bonuses) until you've spun for all the "regular" ones.

If you spun for sky landers....How do you "enter the code". I thought part of the downside of in app spins or gem purchases was no code, no toy link, no refunds of gems, etc. If I'm confused that would be great!
Dark fhoenix Emerald Sparx Gems: 3166
#37 Posted: 00:55:30 23/08/2014
There is no downside . You can enter the toy code anytime for an already spun skylander .

You just bring up the Skylander character info sheet and click on Link at the lower right hand corner to enter its toy code .

You can enter the codes for skylanders you've already unlocked with spins or gems from the main code entry screen. If you paid gems to unlock the sklyander, you get the gems back. If you spun for the skylander, you don't get anything back.

As much as gold is to come by in the beginning, gems are much harder to come by. I have hundreds of millions of gold and only 5000+ gems and I spun for just about every Skylander that I didn't have a code for. I didn't spin much in the beginning, though, other than the free doing they used to offer every 5 levels. But I also had quite a few toys to enter codes for. I didn't do much spinning until a fee months ago when I finally decided to just spin for all the Skylanders I didn't have. If I end up getting the toy or the code, I don't regret it that much. With as much gold as I have, 5 mil isn't that bit of a loss. The only Skylanders I see worth spending gems on are Swappers as they give you gems through sugar bats. Although I could see your point of Legendaries if you have the Halls.
BUGMom05 Blue Sparx Gems: 729
#40 Posted: 16:35:06 01/09/2014
you enter the code on skylanders you spun/paid gems for with that nifty "toy-link" icon on the lowers right.
reiterate what midas said about gem refund--gold=gone forever
