Do You Ever Get Angry, But Keep The Feelings Inside of You? [CLOSED]

I mean, really, my brother just always seems to be upset. He never breaks anything, but he never wants to talk to anyone. He'd rather be on his phone, going on Pshychonauts forums.

Possibilities that immediately come to mind:

  • He's depressed.
  • He dislikes or doesn't fit in with other kids
  • He may have some hidden trauma (I was very startled to find out some of the things that had happened to a close friend in their childhood that they never told anyone else of)
  • He's saddened over some situation, perhaps his own or someone else's (for a long time everyone thought I was depressed when in fact I was just very saddened by a certain person who meant so much to me being stuck in a wretched situation and life).
  • Perhaps he's putting on an act (less likely, but still).
  • While I hate to say it, there are some people who enjoy being miserable. It's kind of an emotional form of masochism. Hopefully your brother doesn't have that though.

I am sorry though.
In regard to the titular question, heck yes I do (though not too much or I'll get physically sick if I hold too much in). I mostly get angered when anyone who hurts someone I love and I can't do hardly anything about it.

Those are the two most likely things. I haven't seen a new Psychonauts game on the horizon yet, but he always believes that a new one will come out in the future. That's why he always goes on the forums, even if they're inactive. I would love to see one so I can get a taste of what the original game inspired, but I just don't see it happening.

I doubt the game itself caused much trauma, but some people find certain series/shows/games soothing (e.g. I find Kingdom Hearts and Noein both soothing and associatable).

I don't hide my emotions most the time so much as just mask them or put on a very different exterior (I have a very layered set of emotions and often experience multiple at once).

It's not the game, it's the fact that the game's not getting a sequel.

Of course. But it's not healthy to keep emotions bottled up inside of you... You gotta find something to take out your emotions on, but something that won't hurt another person, or yourself. What I do is draw out my anger or feelings... It's a really good stress reliever. When everything's over, and I feel tons better, I look down at my drawings and say "Well that's a very angry drawing..." and then throw it away. Problem solved. smilie

I don't express anger or sadness too much. I just wait until I'm alone and then I let it all out.

Yes, make sure it never hurts you yourself either. It can be very startling to find out the things some people you think you know will do to themselves...

Some good escapist entertainment helps me, as does exercise, vengeful fantasies (Idk how healthy that is actually, but I make them extremely fantastical to ensure I'd never do them in real life no matter how nuts I get), and music too.

Since the beginning of the year. I though he'd get over it, but it's just not happening.

I'm a really laid back person, so its incredibly hard to find times where I ever get mad.

Most of the time I do. If I ever get openly angry at people and yell or smart off to them then I always regret it eventually - unless it's someone I really don't care for and completely deserved it that is. And besides, some people want to make you angry, so if you do get angry but hide it then they just might leave you alone because they aren't getting the reaction they desire from you. That's how it is here sometimes anyway.

A healthy stress reliever like drawing or writing is a good idea. I guess I would say mine's writing. Music helps a ton as well.

Me too, or perhaps it's just apathy lol. Only if someone hurts someone I care about do I get angry.
Or when a network cancels another great show lol.

I'm sorry about your brother. Make sure he isn't doing anything maso, otherwise Idk what you can do but try and find if there's ahything going on you don't know about.

I used to keep my anger bottled up, and I still kinda do nowadays, but I usually like talking about what's making me angry with a close friend and it usually calms me down. I hardly get angry though, it takes a lot to make me furious.

I don't keep my anger bottled up. At all.

But I tend to keep upsetting thoughts bottled up. I'd argue it's worse.

About my brother...I keep on wanting to tell him that his series is dead and that it'll never come back, but I know him. If I say that, he'll just get pissed off.
