Nothing bothers me more when people make an FC and call it an OC.

Well they're wrong. Unless they are the creators of MLP, it is a fan character, not an original character. Fan characters are characters you make, but they live in a world that you didn't make. An original character is a character you made that lives in a world you made.

It's not Brony terms..... It's actual RP terminology....

OC = Original Character
FC = Fan Character
CC = Canon Character

The textbook definitions are...

Canon Character is self-explanatory. The actual characters from said universes such as that Rainbow pony and the pink one wSpyro always has as his avatar or Naruto, Goku, etc, you get the point.

Fan Character is a character which one creates solely for the purpose of existing in the world of the pre-existing universe of a tv show, movie, book, etc. Making up your own character who goes on travels with Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, or fan-made ponies.

Original Character is a character you make for a world you make. It exists in no fandom world and is 100% your creation.

People can get annoyed by this and fight to the death that the difference between the terms is as different as day and night. Though there can be some gray to this. The OC doesn't necessarily have to have a world to go with them, simply a fully original character you make. An OC can be an FC and an FC can be on OC. This is a case where the character could be used in any universe pre-existing or your own original one with even the slightest tweek to allow them to change what world they can live in.

As presented, it would be an FC, though if it is still your own character that you could rework into existing in any universe and isn't necessarily entirely bound to the universe you are presenting it to us and solely existing in, then yeah, I'd say it's an OC.

That is honestly bull crap. It's still basically says "Fan character". And that character can be very much original and still be in MLP. Thus making it an MLP OC or that thing you called nonexistent. Also do you guys really have to point out the whole FC thing to everyone when they say "[insert franchise here] OC"? I mean it's not like it's the law to correct people on the categories of characters and all that.
