Does any one else think they shouldn't be allowed.

I mean why the hell can a teacher keep behind for a hour after school or in your lunch do you can't have food?

But what if it is for something stupid like not having school shoes?

How dare they punish you for not following their rules.

They're annoying, but not the worst thing in the world.

Then again, a warning probably would've been more appropriate for shoes..

No I was using that as a example it didn't happen to me but it does happen in school.

You didn't wear appropriate shoes and the teacher made you skip lunch? That's stupid. -__-. Does said teacher realize that it's just a pair of shoes and it's really not worth getting in extra energy for the day? -__o

There was a rule at my middle school as where if you were being attacked by a student on school grounds, both you and the attacker would be suspended. I'm sorry, but if my kid comes home with a bloody nose saying he got suspended for doing absolutely nothing, I'm taking to it the state. It's outrageous.

Also people get detentions for incorrect uniform.

One time my stupid teacher got me and a kid mixed up and he sent a phone call to my mum even though I didn't do anything and gave me a dentition but i sorted it out with the teacher and I got away.

And our Maths teacher is my worse teacher

He keep us for like 5-10 minutes of our lunch (it is 30 mins) because of some bad people and it takes forever to get lunch in the lines

You know what's really dumb?
Neighbours with no wifi.

I mean-calling teachers "sir" and "miss"

The concept of it isn't so dumb to me, it's mainly the way they execute it. They either punish people that did nothing or for dumb reasons, an hour for the person talking's a bit overkill, or they continuously punish people it's obviously having no effect on. Not to mention school likes to act like teachers are flawless people with perfect judgement.

The purpose isn't dumb. They do serve a purpose, to punish those doing wrong.

However, this doesn't always go as is intended.

I got detention once because I didn't dree in the proper PE uniform. The reason I didn't is because someone stole my gym clothes from my locker.
