Everyone needs to keep in mind that this is a period of change, and while change can be a bit discomforting (I, for one, hate change), eventually things will settle back down and a new equilibrium will be established (at least, if basic principles of chemistry are to be believed). <.<;

They will be, I think. When Dark pulled that April fool's day joke three or four years ago the usernames were orange. I'm guessing that's how hunters will stand out on the online users list.

I hope that each Hunter will turn off the Private User if they are using it.
That should be a requirement.

I personally have no intention to use private user nor have I ever before. However, the concern about being able to track when hunters is on is disconcerting. If your not doing anything wrong, why should it matter? I can honestly say I would never have the intention nor do I see the need to covertly spy on anyone here. I think people are more concerned about mods and them being corrupt with power than there is a need to be. The goal is to control flaming and clean up clutter a little bit. That is all.

edit: I think its also a key factor that none of the individuals chosen to my knowledge have any history of overt conflicts or issues with others on the board.

Why... exactly? I use it because the site runs faster on it for my computer (probably an issue with my cache of cookies). <.<;

Imagine some situation happen(Something that needed to be deleted instantly). The Mod isn't aware of it and you want to tell whichever Mod is online. Of course, you can't tell which Mod is online because they are set on Private. See where I'm getting at?

It's like you're looking for help and help is there with the power to help you and others, but hides and won't do anything unless they finally see the problem. One of the people in "danger" could have warn the Helper before any more "damage" happens.

I apologize I did read sinister connotations into the original post that I no longer think were there.

I agree these are all valid concerns. Thank you for sharing, these thoughts will keep me from considering a private setting in the future

I think the Hunters will have their own private section to discuss certain things or Stuff for Dark to let them know.
