Last month I visited a TRU on the Sunday before President's Day. They told me that they had just put out their shipment of Skylanders which included the first Cynders I had ever seen. I thought it was odd that they had stocked them on a Sunday. Perhaps they got their shipment on Saturday but were too busy to stock them until the next day. Or perhaps they get special shipments on the weekend before a holiday.

I think we've pretty much proven why stores never had an exact date for things. Trucks come in different days, employees not putting things out, etc. I'd say we're pretty darn lucky to have a solid date. Even then though, there's that possibility that a few splinter stores will have stuff out early.

So get this. I was told that there will be no exclusivity at Toys R Us. That Gamestop will have the same thing...just no legendary ones. So...Dragon's Peak will arrive at all stores. Not just TRU. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what I was told.

That sounds a bit fishy, especially since all the press releases we've gotten claim it to be an exclusive for 30 days.

^hmm!? That's strange, it's suppose to be exclusive for thirty days like Darklight Crypt was. It might be misinformation because if it was the Toys'R'us in Everett that told you this, they constintly misinform me. They said that they wouldn't get anymore L. Trigger Happys until the 21st and then overnight they put out 15 of them. I learned not to rely on them.

I was told that Gamestop will have them. That's what they said. I defended that claim, but they said when the exclusive on the others happened, they got them too at the same time. The only thing they didn't get was the Legendary figures. I don't think that he knew all what he was talking about. But I will still be going to Toys R Us....not Gamestop. Gamestop will be destination 2 if I miss anything at the other places. Mind you, Walmart may have their stock at midnight on the 21st...or possibly sooner...I will definitely be on the look out and give heads up if I do see that is the case.

I mean, I hope I find them first, cause I told my daughter that if fate allows me to own these before April 1st, then it was fate that allowed her to have a Toy Fair Cynder. If someone finds them before me, though, and is willing to help, fate had this Cynder in store for them.

People here mistake my luck. I have the worst luck in the world finding Skylanders, as odd as it sounds.

But, hey, if no one wants a free $177-250 for their time (I must be insane), it's all gravy.

Hi, all (first post)! I was told the same thing at my TRU about 3/21. My question is should I skip class that day or go after class gets out at noon? My TRU opens at 10. I'm so tired of hunting for these things!

Isn't that a bit too much? It's well over $200 dollars. I've seen the Metallic Cynder for less on eBay. And it wouldn't be a FREE Toy Fair Cynder.

He has made this offer before, in at least one other thread. He's saying that he would pay for the figures, including shipping, plus throw in the metallic Cynder. I don't think anyone has ever gotten items before him, though, so don't expect to cash in on the offer.

2 for me to play with (1 Skylander for each upgrade path) and 1 to hang on my wall. Other 2 go to my 2 kids.

That Cynder would be free. It would be a gift to someone who did that for me, because I would be paying them back for the figures, too. I mean sure, some scalper or person could just say "well, why would I want to do that? I could buy 5 of each and sell each for 100 bucks a piece." I can then buy 5 Toy Fair Cynders. However, free is free. Who wouldn't want a free Toy Fair Cynder? Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

EDIT: Himewad is right. If I find them first, the Cynder goes to my kid. However, others always find the newest wave before I do. I have never been the first to own any wave of figures first. I blame not living on the east or west coast.

Tellin' ya, Hime. I may be the first in OKC to find them. However, I am not the first to find them. East and westcoast peeps are the lucky ones. I check Ebay everyday, just to see if they're "officially" released. Sad, I know. People always find these first. Then they scalp them like losers.

I got yet another story from my TRU today. Now I was told that they are having major issues with the manufactuerer and have no idea when Dragon's Peak or Triple packs will be in the store. The only thing they can garuentee is they will have singles on the 21st. They wouldn't tell me which singles just that they would have singles that day. Plus no rainchecks for this weeks sale since it wasn't their fault they didn't have stock. Sigh.


Oh and Rewards R Us members will be getting an email announcing the event most likely Sunday or Monday.

Typical TRU non-sale sale. Bunch of asshats running that operation.

If I got the figures, I would take the offer, but I can't imagine getting five of each, especially before everybody else.

Edit: I'd actually need six of each, because I need one each for me.

^ West coast lucky? I rarely find anything in Washington, most of my figures are from online orders and when a family member goes out of town to somewhere in the mid-US. But that's me, maybe others have better luck here or in California and Oregon?

Yeah east coaster here in New England, we don't get anything in our stores until a week and a half after they start showing up by California sellers on EBay, like clockwork.

That's usually who I see listing first, but that's just what I've observed.

Hmm... Infact, thanks to you, I'm gonna play a game. I will pay him as soon as I get wave 4. I love playing with fate. When does fate have 10 bucks in store for good old Monsi? When I land wave 4. So, let's say someone helps me. I give them a Toy Fair Cynder, Monsi gets his 10 bucks, and I get wave 4. If I find wave 4, my daughter has the fate card playing in her favor, I give Monsi his 10 bucks, and I get wave 4. MAN I LOVE FATE! GOOD TIMES!

Does anyone else expect TONS of Cynder single packs to be released prior to the new triple pack? Seems like just the kind of thing Activision would do to mess with the customer. So many people want Cynder, they will capitalize on it by flooding the market with single packs. Then, the triple pack shows up with Cynder in it. Forcing the customer to either grit their teeth and buy the extra Cynder, or try to find the Lightning Rod and Zook single packs.

I plan to wait on getting Cynder for that reason alone. Anyone see anything on their toy runs today? I'm about to head out to TRU to check their shipments.

Two of my TRU's got 6 triple packs today. Just wave 3 triples.

im really hoping this march 21st stuff does really bring dragons peak and the rest of wave 4 and maybe a re release of the legendary pack since i missed out on it...

The TRU near my house got L-Triggs, but that was it. I'm not a huge Trigger Happy fan nor do I really feel like collecting the legendaries so I opted out.

I'm hoping DP comes out on the 21st too. I was talking with a woman who had also come to wait for them to unbox the Skylanders and she said one of her grandkids wasn't interested in the game anymore because he wanted to play as some characters that weren't out yet. I know they supposedly pushed up the release date, but really. Kids aren't going to want to play sooner or later if Activision doesn't get their rears in gear.

I hope this won't happen in the UK-I'll probably be at school anyway, and it will be somewhere around May, which is really going to suck.

My TRU was empty, but the douchebag that works there wouldn't probably tell me anyways...but shelves were empty. I don't trust that kid at all. He admittedly owns every Skylander that has come out, which means he holds stuff for himself most likely. And the Gamestop claims low stock of stuff, but the guy working says they haven't received anything in 2 weeks and the other manager said a shipment was sent on the 9th. So I give up. I'll be there on March 21st. I will buy what I can get my hands on...and I'm done. They will rerelease adventure packs I am sure. How can they hold back content that you want to play? So it will come out eventually. For now I'll just accept having what I have...which isn't so bad...sigh.

She said as far as she knows the internal TRU memos indicate thats what the big date is for. I told her if thats the case, you will have a lot of angry customers. This is the 4th things ive been told that has changed through the week.

LOL. Gold trigger happy?! I'll be pissed if that is the so called "singles" that is going to be out on the 21st.

I do however have a feeling that we may not see the Dragon's Peak stuff on the 21st. But who really knows about anything anymore. No stores had anything today.

All I know is I shouldn't feel like I am a scalper when I go in there if I'm only buying one pack. I just don't like the cut of his jib. He's one nerdy smile away from a punch in the nose. I just have to remind myself that he's making about 12 dollars an hour max to do that for a living at 22-25 years old. Then I can just smile about it and carry on with my day.

Call corporate on him. That should make his day unpleasant. Despite making minimum wage, they should treat their customers with respect. They shouldn't take personal issues out on anyone. It's not anyone's fault they chose to work for TRU. Everyone has a chance in life to break the normal trends of life, but most of the time, people are their own worst enemy.

I called my local TRU today since they historically always get trucks in on Thursday. They didnt have any in stock right now, but I asked about the event on the 21st to see if they knew anything about it. They said they were doing the event. I asked them what it would be and she said singles and triples. I then asked that since they usually get trucks on thursday with skylanders, will the event still be on the 21st which is a Wed? She said they are getting a special overnight truck for this event so it will be on Wed. Which is not a normal day for them to get trucks.. its usually Tues, Thurs.

Plenty of three-packs and Legendary Trigger Happy at our Toys 'R' Us today, even though they have the sign up. If you still need figures, I think it's safe to say that you can't use this alleged event to cross TRU off your shopping lists. Nothing new, though.

I spoke to a very knowledgeable TRU employee yesterday and she did confirm the "Big Event". Saying it was gonna be huge, with an all new display. Sounded really excited about it. But...her indication was that it was for Legendary Trigger and possibly Blue Bash. She stated that they have several boxes in the back of LTH that can't come out to the floor till the 21st. When I mentioned to her that LTH had already been released, she stated that another store across town had gotten in trouble for placing him on the floor.

What was confusing to me, was that when asked about DP, Zook, Lightning Rod, and the triple pack with Cynder, she had not heard of them receiving any. They could still show up, but I'm wondering if this "Big Event" is just more of the same characters with even more Legendary's.

Also, she mentioned that their store is handing out tickets to customers in line, but only 1 ticket per customer. Meaning that each person could only buy 1 Skylander item. In order to get another, you must go back outside to reenter, or if there is still a line, get back in line.

I'll probably still go, but this whole thing is just weird.

over half the time the employees have no idea what they're talking about. when I asked about legendary trigger happy a few weeks ago before I got him the TRU employee said he was coming in may, which obviously wasn't true and when I said people were already getting them he said "OH WELL THE EAST COAST GETS THEM BEFORE WE DO" even though people had reported them being found in places like vegas. ugh! hopefully, these employees are just out of the loop.

^Most employees are useless and clueless. Once in a while you find one that can explain everything and actually get their information right.

Legendary Trigger Happy as the big event? They have got to be yanking your chain! He's been out in the NY stores since the beginning of the month and continued to be stocked (well not this current week actually).

^ To be honest, I think this whole "Big Event" thing on the 21st is just an over exaggeration and a sales pitch to get people to come and stampede the store. I probably shouldn't go because I have all characters out right now except for Cynder who I'll probably wait for until the triple pack with Zook and Lightening Rod. I might want to get a second L. Trigger or Legendary three pack but there's no guarantee that they'll have the three pack since they're pushing the singles. But knowing me and my curiosity, I'm probably just going to attend to see if they receive anything new but I highly doubt it.

Most TRU employees at my local are not that informed of skylanders... and unless you get one that is a fan and collects, they have no real interest. We all knew when LTH was coming out. That Wed, he was out in most TRU around the country and people on this site were reporting LTH were at their stores. Knowing my TRU gets their trucks on Thursday, I called on Wed and asked about LTH. The woman who seemed to be fielding the calls about skylanders (she knew the characters names at least) told me that there was no LTH and the only legendaries were the three pack and they had two in stock. I told her to trust me, there is a LTH and he will be coming soon. She argued with me and told me again that legendaries were only in a three pack. I told her to wait and see, he will be in big demand. The next day (thursday) I went to that TRU and they had about 50 LTH. I wish I could have seen her when she opened that box up and saw what she just told me the day before didnt exist.

Moral of the story.... if they arent fans or collectors... they dont know the info as much as we do that are here on this site... after all, we want them... they just work there.... Some are informed.. most dont care.... and are probably tired of getting calls about them....
