Spyro isn't dead, as proven in the cutscene after the credits of DotD. The Chronicler says so, then we see him and Cynder flying over a nice meadow somewhere.

i cant realy tell if spyro is dead or not but the chronicler did not exactly say if spyro died. i also think that spyro died but the cutscene where spyro and cynder are flying in the meadow are actually their spirits.

When he says he cant find any trace of Spyro, he means in the book listing all the dragons that have died, so Spyro and Cynder are not dead, they are celebrating that they succeeded in saving the world by playing together in the end.

Yeah, Spyro and Cynder are ALIVE, spyro16. They are seen flying over the Valley of Avalar if anyone of you recognized the scenery.

well just the fact that the chronicler said that they did not die but it looked like they died cause it looked just like it did when ignitus died. so thats whats confusing me

Okay, now you're confusing me.

Ignitus died, but his spirit was chosen to be the next Chronicler. And Spyro and Cynder probably escaped the core of the world when it was still putting itself back together.

How many people did not stick around after the credits to see that cutscene? I know most people that didn't sit through the credits and that's why they didn't see the cutscene.

Yeah spyro and cynder are alive I would say, but one thing troubles me and is always going to trouble me, do they ever meet back with the other gaurdians as well as sparx and hunter. and also if you have notcied where the chronicler says that his job was to record the many failures and successful moment s in history, have you notcied the three gaurdians in the book and then you quickly see the moles rebuilding what looks like a more modern city or modern buildings, because they look blueish in a way, you think Im just saying dont hold this against me but you think that might mean what could mean what sierra was planning for the next game to go if activision didnt take over....?

Ignitus died. His spirit was reborn and he became the chronicler.

thats kinda hard 2 believe though cause he unleashed the time fury in TEN. besides ignitus looked the same way when he died so im thinking that maybe spyro did die. despite the last cutscene i think that thats his spirit.

He did not die! The Chronicler said he couldn't find any trace of Spyro and Cynder in the book of Dargon's Death. When Ignitus learned Spyro wasn't dead he wondered where he might be if he didn't die.

Spyro is eternal! If Malefor is then so is Spyro. The only thing that they are alike is there color. He can't die. Also the Chronicler said he can't find any trace of Spyro in the dead dragon book. So he's alive!

*Sigh* This is one question that has no definitive answer due to many various and obvious plot changes that occurred when the original storyline of A Darkest Hour transformed over into Dawn of the Dragon. In case any of you didn't notice the ending seemed rather rushed as if they funding toward the end of production of the game was starting to run out.

There is also a rather interesting plot hole no one seems to have brought up... if everyone went beneath the surface to try to survive then how did they actually survive when the planet began to break apart. I mean they would have been incinerated by all that lava erupting upwards from inside the planet. The only thing that could explain how they survived is that Spyro used his Dragon Time ability to basically do a variation on what Superman did after Lois died in Superman 2. I thought I'd just bring that point up because it seemed that no ever has.

We didn't actually see Spyro and Cynder emerge from the core of the world, but we DO know that they both survived and are alive.

Spyro isn't dead, after the cut scenes it shows both Spyro and Cynder flying in a field.

That means there not dead! In the finale cutsene after the credits, the last Chronicler looked in the book of dead dragons and said "I cannot fing any trace of Spyro.". That means he's not dead!

He's not dead (I hope). What I think happened was Spyro used a time fury to stop time so that the Earth stopped breaking apart. Then he got out of the core.

Or, Spyro could have used his purple dragon fury from ANB to save the world. Notice how when Cynder says I love you, purple light starts to show up on the screen. So that purple light could have been the purple dragon fury.
