A large hut appeared into view. "Here we are. We are in Everest area.", Conner said. They walked inside the hut, with the others noticing how much larger the hut appeared on the inside. "Historius, we need something to help a Hyper Beam burn. Can you help?", Conner questioned the Chatot that walked in. "Of course I can with a Rawst Berry poultice. A friend of yours is a friend of mine.", Historius said he then walked into the other room. "Feel free to sit any where you want, Vern and Migx. Historius should be here shortly.", Conner told the duo.

Emily walked closer to Calia as the four walked by somewhat awkwardly. "Don't make too much noise." Calia said, keeping an eye out for any sign of danger.

Vern dragged Migx over to a bench and sat down. He held onto Migx to keep him from falling to the ground.

Historius then flapped into the room, holding a basket with a bowl of poultice, some berries, food, and water. "I figured you hadn't had a decent meal since the explosion at New Angeles, so I prepared some food for you. Now Migx, eat these Rawst berries and tell me where the burns hurt worst.", Historius said calmly.

Emily was the first to spot the pokemies, and she pointed them out to Calia. There were at least 7, all seemingly discussing some sort of plan.

"Well..." Migx started. "My arms are sore, my head's aching, and my body feels like it's on fire! ...But my paws feel nice and relaxed." Vern shook his head. "How do you feel after the berries?" Migx started to shake. "Still sore!" That's because Rawst berries were designed to treat fire burns, not laser burns. "Honestly, I think a Hyper Potion should pep him up," Vern said.

The four slowly walked past the pokemies, barely avoiding detection.

"Hmmm.... I am not really sure what can treat a burn like that. But a Hyper Potion is a good idea. Here, try some of this poultice on a part of your body that hurts to see if it would work. I will get a Hyper Potion.", Historius said. He then flapped out of the room again.

After Soul, Heart, Crystal, and Tika reported the problem to the SEP, they started heading for Everest.

"Man, so much has happened in the past day." said Soul. "First the horde at Labyrinth, then The New Angeles explosion, now we have that Pikachu with us."

"I know, right?" said Heart. He looked behind him. Crystal and Tika were engaged in conversation. "So what do you think of her?"

Soul sighed. "As much as I would like more Pokémon in our group, it's too risky. after today, I don't want anyone else getting hurt."

"Well, she seems nice, and Crystal really likes her. she really needs a girl to talk to when we can't be there. Remember when we found her?"

Soul thought for a moment. "Okay, I guess so. But I can't exactly trust her just yet. I will in soon time, maybe, but not for now. We don't know much about her, so after we handle this thing with the cure, we'll let her join us."

"Thanks, Soul, " said Heart, "I knew I could count on you. Besides, we need some new company that are willing to travel with us. I don't think Migx and Vern were all that in on it."

The group finally reached Everest, where they saw Migx scorched with burns. THey also saw Vern, Conner, and a Chatot they hadn't seen before.

"Migx, are you alright?" Soul asked as the group reached the area.

...But as the group was going to Everest, eventually Varmy thawed out. He did so as Heart, Crystal, Soul, and Tika were walking by. Eventhually, he heard the name "Vern." Varmy decided to follow the group after hearing the name. When getting to Everest, he saw the group go inside a hut, but they shut the door behind him, leaving him out. Varmy just stayed and waited.

Inside, Migx was rubbing himself with poultice, hoping to sooth his body. It was starting to help, but it didn't cure him. "I... I think I'm okay," he said.

"Okay, that's good." said Heart. He looked over at Conner. "So you're Conner, then?"

Then, in one moment, Emily stepped on a twig, breaking it, and the pokemies turned around to see the four travelers, standing there, terrified. "RUN!!!" Calia screeched, and the others needed no urging. They all ran through the forest as fast as they could, with the pokemies not too far behind.

Conner said to Heart, "Yes, I am Conner. I was just helping Historius, the Chatot over there, to treat Migx's burns. Historius, would you introduce yourself?" "Indeed I shall. I am Historius, the main researcher and creator of the Elixir, the cure for the BR-97 virus. I assume you would want to know if it works and how it is made. Conner! Would you get a new Pokemie specimen from the Wastelands? You know, like you did last time?" Historius said. Conner answered Historius, "I will. While I am out, could you go get to making another Elixir? Give a quick demonstration to the group". Conner then left with some sleeping powder.

Calia realized that as tired as her little group was, they wouldn't be able to last long, as they hadn't rested for very long. Emily was already showing signs of fatigue, and the pokemies showed no sign of stopping anytime soon. "Come on, Calia, figure something out." Calia muttered to herself.

"You made this cure?" Heart asked. "That's insane. If you really created a cure, it could potentially save our whole world!" Heart then remembered that he hadn't introduced himself.

"Oh, right, where are my manners? My name is Heart. This is Soul, Crystal, and...." He studdered for a moment, "Tika. We're travelers. What about you guys?"

Vern decided he should introduce himself too. "Well I'm Vern. Me and Migx are travelers as well. We might not be able to do much, but..." Vern stopped and looked out the hut's window. He could have sworn he heard something, but he didn't know for sure, as he saw nothing. "Nevermind. Me and Migx are just doing what we can."

Historius said, "Well it is good that you have good manners. Now come, I will show you how the special elixir is made, but without Conner, it can't be fully made. I can prepare the rest of the elixir however, because Conner gave the ingredients we needed to make another". He held up a little pouch. "Come, follow me to the Lab." , Historius said, motioning the others to follow him.


Conner was sneaking through the wastelands, trying to see if there were any Pokemies he could capture. He saw one, who was just sleeping in a small nest. *This one might have been left behind because he was sleeping*, Conner thought. Conner covered it's face with sleeping powder to make sure it stayed asleep for the trek home. Conner then dragged the Pokemie to Everest.

"Okay," Vern said, dragging Migx into the room with Historius.

OOC: Is it alright if Connor and Varmy have an encounter with each other, Zook? I got something planned. Maybe Varmy could act like Connor kidnapped his son, then put him to sleep and have him fed to Pokemies. Then everyone should go searching for Connor before its too late. ...Something along those lines?

OoC:I am alright with that Mugourth, just make sure there is some way that the other main characters know.

Historius, after everyone was in the lab, demonstrated the creation of the Elixir. "Alright everyone, give me room, and watch me work my magic!", Historius said excitedly. He combined a Rawst Berry, Chesto Berry, Cheri Berry, Aspear Berry, Pecha Berry, all ground up into a pulp. He then mixed in a portion of Berry Juice, with the powders of a Revive and a Dusk Stone. Last but not least, he added the Sacred Ash with the fibers of a Reaper Cloth. He put the elixir in a bottle. Historius said, "Finished. Now we need one thing. We just need to wait for Conner with the Pokemie.", Historius said.

But little did they know, Connor was being followed. Varmy followed him to the site where he got the Pokemie and started to yell at him. "Where's my son!?" He cried. "I saw you with him earlier. You didn't take him away, did you? I heard a bunch of Pokemon mention his name earlier. What do you know? Where is he!" Before Connor could answer, Varmy cut him off. "*Gasp* You... You hurt poor Verny, didn't you!? No one hurts my son if I have something to do with it." Varmy then tried to use Hypnosis on Connor, hoping to put him to sleep.

Conner was trying to fight the hypnosis of the pseudo-Drowzee, but a Hypno's hypnosis is a hard thing to fight. Eventually, Conner fell asleep, hoping he won't end up like Vern's friends.

Historius noticed something strange. It would normally take 15 minutes to find and return a Pokemie. It has been half an hour. "Someone should look for Conner. I think he has been ambushed by something. Soul, Vern, Heart, Crystal, would you go look for him. Migx, stay here while I help your burns. Here is the Hyper Potion you asked for.", Historius said, while handing Migx a Hyper Potion.

Vern had a nasty feeling in his stomach. "No... I hope it's now what I think it is," Vern said as he was walking out the door.

Historius did not want Conner to get hurt, so he said, "I will come with you. I may not be as spry as I used to be, but I can still help by checking around where he might have been taken.". He then flapped toward the door.

Calia turned and leaped over her friends, yelling, "Don't stop running!" As she did so. She faced the pokemies and used magical leaf on them, then turned and ran again. The move was only super-effective on one of the pokemies, a marshstomp.

Soul, Heart, Crystal, and Tika headed out with Vern and Historius to go find Conner.

"Wait a sec," said Soul, "Someone should stay with Migx, just in case someone attacks the area and Migx needs someone to help him."

"I'll stay here, " said Heart, "If that's okay with you, Migx."

"I'll allow you to watch the hut. Just make sure no one goes into the lab, as there are breakable instruments in there. Let us have good luck finding Conner." Historius said, flapping out of the door.

Migx drank his potion up and smiled. "Sure, that's alright," Migx said with a smile.

Migx was Vern's best friend, but if Vern's hunch was correct he had to go along. "I hope we're not too late," Vern said dashing out into the forest.

After flying for a while, Historius found something very unusual: a Pokemie sleeping outside of its nest. He flew down and examined it. "Everyone, come over here! I found something!", Historius exclaimed. Everyone came over. "This Pokemie is too far away from it's nest to be sleeping. Conner must have made it sleep, and he was dragging it over here. But then there are drag marks in the dirt, the other way from the other drag marks, going towards a Pokemie nest incredibly large. It has more than a dozen Pokemies inside. I should know: that hoard attacked Everest a day ago. He was knocked out, then dragged over there, from the looks of things. But why would someone do that? Even the person dragging him is in danger!", Historius said wisely.

"So we have to go inside there to find them?" asked Soul, "In that huge Pokemie nest where we could get killed?"

"Well, we have been through worse," said Crystal. "Plus, we have Tika with us."
"Meh, I guess you're right. let's go." said Soul as the group followed the drag marks.

"Does anyone have any idea who is crazy enough to do such a thing?", Historius questioned.

The pokemies weren't stopping, and the small group was tiring. Calia had used up almost all of the PP in her magical leaf attack, and she was running out of options.

Vern curled his fist in anger. "I know one person who would. My father. There's no doubt in my mind that he did this!" Vern started to tense up. "Ugh! I just want to kill my father right now!"

Well, if what Conner said to me is true, then we had better hurry before your father wakes up the Pokemies. Conner may be immune, but he can't survive a fatal amount of wounds. Come on! Let's hurry!", Historius exclaimed. He then flown off to the nest, severely hoping Conner wasn't hurt.

Soul, Crystal, and Tika ran into the forest right behind them, hoping they weren't too late.

Eventually, they found the location where Conner was, and fortunately he was still alive. ...But the Pokemies were coming. "No... CONNER! WAKE UP!" Vern yelled out.

"Don't worry about waking him up, just get him out of here!" Soul yelled. he Volt Tackled a group of Pokemies right before they got to Conner.

Historius might be weak, but he always has trick up his sleeve. He made a trap for the Pokemies, so when they trip it, they will be trapped. "Hurry everyone. Get Conner, but do not trip the wire at the entrance!" Historius said, knowing the trap would work.

Soul and Tika picked up Conner and ran as fast as they could. Crystal followed right behind.

"Hurry! We're nearly there!", Historius exclaimed. Once they were out of the cave, the Pokemies tripped the wire causing the tree trunk supporting the rocks to fall, causing the rocks to block the entrance to the outside. "That will stop the Pokemies from ever attacking. Now, let's get back to Everest to awaken Conner. Let's also pick up the Pokemie that Conner took the trouble of knocking out.", Historius said, flying towards home.

"Calia!" Emily called. "I can't run much longer!" Calia nodded and cried out, "I know, I know!"

Vern picked up the Pokemie and followed the group. His mind was still set on Varmy. He was out there, and it wouldn't be safe with him around.

...But as misfortune would have it, Varmy found his way to the hut, where he found Migx and Heart were. He immediately recognized Migx right away. "You... ...You froze me in ice before. You..." Varmy got up close to Migx and started to shake. "Why... What did you do with my Verny!?" Varmy picked Migx up and started to shake him.

"Hey, buddy!" Heart yelled at Varmy. He separated the two. "Calm down!"

Historius quickly got an aspear berry, woke Conner up, then let him do the talking. Conner picked up Varmy and hoisted him into the aire. "You made me fall asleep. You threaten my friends. You were going to feed me to Pokemies. You don't deserve to live. You will have one more chance to make up for it. After that, run, and don't you dare follow your son any more. NOW OFF WITH YOU!!", Conner threatened. He then booted out Varmy out the door, then slammed it shut. "So, who wants to see if the Elixir works?", Conner questioned.

"You... Evil bad person..." He said before being kicked out. Varmy was lucky they spared his life, but he seemed very pissed. He looked through the window and started to pout. "They're all against me! They have my son, and they're keeping him captive. Oh... you will all rue this day!" Varmy left the scene afterward.

Vern shook his head. "My father is nuts," he said. "Somewhere down the line, his mind cracked. And now his mind is a cuckoo clock."

"I can completely agree with you there, Vern. Alright everybody, get ready to see the Elixir in action! Historius! Would you help finish it?", Conner said. "Don't mind if I do. Arm please.", Historius said. Conner held out his arm. Historius then took out some blood, and mixed it in with the Elixir. "The Enzyme in the blood multiplies rapidly, and the other ingredients help preserve it, and soak through the skin.", Historius explained. He then put the mixture into a bottle, then put a sprayer on it. "Alright Historius, is the Pokemie ready?", Conner questioned. "It is raving mad, so yes.", Historius answered. "Alright everyone, pay close attention!", Conner said. He then sprayed the Pokemie, then changes were almost immediate. The Pokemie was losing its less wild self and turning into a Pokemon, a Bulbasaur to be exact. "Can someone help find my family?", the Bulbasaur said. Everyone was amazed.

The group looked shocked at this amazing find. "This could potentially change the world!" said Heart. "This is simply legendary!"

"Um, what faction are you guys again?" Crystal asked Conner and Historius.

"Awww, hello there little guy," Vern said. Then he looked at the others. "Shou... should we? Should we help him?" Vern asked.

"We are Outskirters but don't worry, if anyone here has an immunity, your secret is safe with us. I am friends with a Pokémon with an immunity.", Historius answered. "And don't worry, I'll get him to the nearest Survival Pocket, that way he can live a normal life, at least in this world", Conner answered Vern.

Soul and Heart exchanged looks, relieved that Crystal's secret was safe. Crystal, on the other hand, wasn't looking so great. Her face turned red and she started breathing heavily upon hearing they were Outskirters. No doubt she was having bad memories of what happened when Soul and Heart found her.

"Hey, Tika, do me a favor and take Crystal out for some fresh air?" Soul asked Tika.

"Sure, no problem" said Tika. She and Crystal walked outside. Soul and Heart looked at the Pokémon staring at them.

"Crystal has an immunity to the virus," Heart started. "When we found her, a bunch of crazy Outskirters were trying to kill her so they could experiment on her. We managed to defeat them, and turn them over to the SEP, but it still haunts Crystal. because of that, we keep her immunity a secret."

"Plus, well..." said Soul, "Our first impressions of Outskirters then wasn't so pretty, if you hadn't guessed. I was reluctant to come at first because I thought you were Outskirters. For a second I thought you were going to do something to her, But I'm glad I can trust you guys. Besides, even if I couldn't, no one would dare touch Crystal if we had anything to say about it."

"Do you plan on showing this cure to the SEP?" Heart asked Historius.

"Well, I am not sure. For one thing, it might end up like the last time someone here at Everest showed a potential cure to the SEP. It ended up making the Pokemies stronger. I would prefer to make this a private affair until we can make sure this cure cannot be mutated in any way. It is still fine to use on Pokémon, but not to show to the SEP just yet. And also, there are definitely Outskirters out there who are evil, but there are a few out there who are like me and Conner.", Historius answered. "You can trust me when it comes to the cure, but the main issue with this is the items required to make it. They are very rare. There is another reason why we don't want to show it to the SEP yet." Conner also answered.
