Grand Boomerang Master. The bommerang shield can do insane damage, and the regualr 'rangs serve as a viable projectile.

Bone crafter, no contest. The other path is just an inferior drobot.

Bone Crafter is a more efficient path (because of the damage added to the wall, and the less time for the skull rain), but I think Shade Master gives more damage.

Okay. But the skull rain still takes too long. She's like flameslinger. Her orbs can take out more enemies in a shorter amount of time that 4 enemies damaged.
:arrows = orbs and fire run = skull rain.

Again, I am talking about pvp. In pvp, the orbs are completely outclasses by drobot's lasers.

's Megadozer path is way better than his Battledozer path. His homing rockets usually take out all the enemies before it gets the chance to split up. IF splits up, the smaller rockets will only go straight and most likely won't hit anything but the wall. A Megadozer will beat a Battledozer any day.

Way less distance. You travel about 1/3 as far. Also, less speed. It's okay on the Wii, but far greater on PS360.

Here goes.
Wham-Shell: Captain Crustacean is the obvious choice. Poseidon Strike is one of the best moves in the game, and what you give up in exchange (starfish) are strictly mediocre. It simply doesn't make sense to try to make Wham-Shell a ranged character with so many other, better options for that. Gill Grunt: Water Weaver. If you're on the HD consoles, the game practically forces you to pick this path for one of the achievements/trophies. It's so much better than Harpooner that the game literally strong-arms you into doing it. Slam Bam: Blizzard Brawler. He's the closest alternative to Stealth Elf that the game offers, and actually bests her in both HP and defense. He's one-dimensional, but that one dimension is enough to wreak havoc in PVP and literally skate through Story. Zap: Slime Serpent is completely underrated, and easily Zap's best path. He's quick, has a unique (and annoying) plan of attack, and actually fares rather well in PVP. The alternative is a Drobot clone. Not a tough decision here. Stealth Elf: Pook Blade Saint. No justification needed. It takes about ten seconds on this build to understand why you don't need the scarecrows anymore. Zook: Floral Defender is the best defensive character in the game, a dominant force in PVP, and to complete the package, easily out-damages Artilleryman--which is supposed to be the offense-oriented build for Zook. Camo: Call me crazy, but I prefer Vine Virtuoso. Being confined solely to mid-range tactics on Melon Master doesn't sound like such a problem, until you actually do it. Vine Virtuoso's melon shield isn't actually that bad, and the ability to reach the edge of the screen and do something against long-range/quick opponents pays for itself. Both paths are fine, though. Stump Smash: Nut Crafter. Smash & Bash is another entry into a crowded and, let's face it, far-superior field of pure melee characters. Nut Crafter provides strategy, defense, and sustainability to a character that would otherwise have none of the above. + Will continue later. |

Prism Break - Crystaleer You blanket an area with three prisms that are perfectly placed to split the beam, plus you end up being able to drop a total of nine crystals, blocking in PvP opponents. The extra armor and doublehit and range on your close range attack top it off. Just be careful not to block yourself in.
Dino-Rang - Grand Master Boomerang. The Superior damage on his boomerang shield just can't be ignored. His Earth trap is still useful, and his boomerang hits are respectable. Boomerang shield can ravage your opponents in PvP and makes him one of several that really has no hard counter. Terrafin - Sandhog hands down. Terrafin is in the same boat as Dino-rang where no skylander can claim to be a strong counter. While beatable, you really have to the one making mistakes. The ability to move fast while invincible, able to grab pick-ups, deal damage and shoot of heat seeking terra babies puts the ball in your court. On most stages just patrol the area where most of the food and the ghost swords pop-up and it's just tough to beat this guy. It's laziness that causes most of loses from what I've seen. Bash - This may be the skylander with two equally viable paths that are hard to argue on a better. Just choose the one you feel suits your playstyle and enjoy. Another tough contender in PvP as well.
				---
Glad heroic challenges are gone. Imagine doing 165 per skylander. That's 27225 challenges. No thank you. |

I tend to enjoy going through the game with only a single character with no heroic challenges and no hats, (adds some extra challenge) so the best paths in that situation are sometimes different than if you're strictly going by PVP rules.
For instance, if you're playing through the game with only Wham-Shell and not doing any Heroic challenges or wearing any hats, the Commander Crab path is far more useful. Throughout the main story the Captain Crustation path is amazing, but once you get to the final fight with Kaos, you simply won't be able to survive all of the skylander battle segments, or the second part of the fight when Kaos recovers himself. (Playing the Wii version) Getting those early long distance shots on enemy skylanders is important, and it's extremely important to have the starfish draining the opponent's health while you're running away to set up another attack. While Posiden Strike can deal out a lot of damage, you're too exposed to attack when you don't have the extra speed boosts, and can easily get ganged up on by the time you're able to start running again. Plus if you can get all three Starfish to hit, you can deal out a lot of damage in a single hit that doesn't take as long to set up and recover from. Then there's the second part of the fight where since Wham-Shell isn't super fast without hats or heroic challenges, you frequently have to be on the move, and you have to stop attacking every time Kaos uses his shark attack so you can heal. Because you're moving around so much, it's nearly impossible to get close enough to Kaos to use your mace attacks, which is where the starfish are FAR more helpful in getting those distance shots. Sadly the starfish don't stick on to Kaos and drain his health, but you can still shoot the starfish at Kaos more often than you'd be able to hit him with a Posiden Strike. Also, I tend to find the Commander Crab path more versatile and fun to play anyways. Any Skylander that can give you a good reason to use all three attack buttons is one worth playing since it's more interesting. : )

Alright, I just got the 3-pack with Prism Break, Boomer & Voodood. For Prism Break I'm planning to go with Prismancer simply because I don't play PvP, I want to use Demolition Troll on Boomer, and I will go with Marauder for Voodood. Tell me if I'm making a mistake or if I chose the right paths.
