Just wanted to check in on the thread and see how everyone is doing with the card collecting? We don't have a full set yet but are getting closer. Lots of doubles. Even more since I stopped buying the singles and went with the jumbo. I regret it now because the kids weren't getting doubles with the single packs.

Bought 10 packs of cards over the past 3 days, and only got 1 new one. 18 cards left.

My Target had a few cards on the release day, but they're all gone now.

Look in the toy section on an end cap on hooks for the jumbo packs

rainbow foils we are missing 125, 129, 130, 133, 138, 139,144,149,152,155,158,160,161,

and on puzzle cards we are missing a4 and a5

i know also have a spare stealth elf coloring card

if anyone wants ill trade extra coloring cards 1 for 1.

if you have rainbow foils ill trade 5 of mine for 4 of your extras or best we can do.

Just picked up a box of these and was planning on using them as stocking stuffers for my youngest. I was also going to give her a pack occasionally for rewards (cleaning her room, help with dishes, etc) since she's six...but to be quite honest I'm having trouble not opening them all right now. LOL. I opened one pack (for scientific purposes) and am soooo tempted to open the rest.

Does anyone have a link to a nice checklist? Can't seem to find on with my Google-Fu today.

^ How many packs did you have to pick up for your almost complete set?

i needed to open over 100 packs ... and i ended up with a crazy amount of multiples of the same cards

@t7gga - Do you have a high resolution photo of your cards? I would like to start a Google spreadsheet checklist for people to use.

I think if people do end up trading cards through PM then we should highlight the reliable traders in this forum and the ones that arent so reliable. I think this would help anyone too worried about sending cards through the mail to people they dont know and also stop the unreliable or untrustworthy people from being involved with trading anything at all. What do you guys think?

I think that's a great idea but how do you really go about it? Would Dark even let us do that, seeing as how we're not supposed to be trading 'toys' (which, cards aren't toys) Or would we just start a new thread?

Waaaaay back when I collected YuGiOh cards we had a system like this in place at a forum I frequented. There would be a thread owner who managed and maintained the trade thread. It was similar to ebay feedback but a lot more low tech. Anyone involved in a trade would PM the thread owner after the trade was completed AND post in the thread as public proof. Only after both parties PM'd the thread owner would each one get positive feedback.

The list that was maintained would list the username and the number of successful trades they have participated in.

A dedicated trading section would be necessary for this to be successful and the mod would have A LOT of maintenance to do. It's a good system as far as keeping track of trades but it still requires a lot of trust, responsibility and integrity to do a blind trade. There are obviously some things you can do to better protect yourself such as exchanging phone numbers, not trading with someone who hasn't been around on the site very long, etc.

I am currently in the middle of 3 other exchanges and will happily post the outcome of those 3 good or bad so that people are aware of who can or cannot be deemed as reliable.

My only unsuccessful experience so far was with "Dunkin" who wanted to exchange but then stopped corresponding so I would deem that person as just un-reliable and would recommend users avoid.

I think it would be great to set up some reliable contacts within here and hope I for one can help.

Not sure if this is worthy of it's own thread or maybe the OP can just edit this to his first post but I took the check list images that t7gga posted and made them into a PDF checklist. It's located on Google Docs at the following link:

Skylanders Trading Card Check List

Once you open the link download it by pressing CTRL+S or clicking on File > Download. Open it in Adobe Reader and you can click on the check boxes to keep track of your collection (make sure to save once you've checked anything off). This will be pretty useful for letting people know what cards you need/want/have but you'll be responsible for getting your personalized checklist uploaded somewhere and shareable.

Popped into a Dollar Tree store today on a whim and found them selling the Skylanders cards!

They're not the regular packs of 8 though. Smaller ones of just 3 cards. I bought like 5 for the heck of it, but out of those I mostly just got common cards (although I needed some of them anyways)

I'd imagine though that all cards are available in them though. Not really a good deal or anything, but if you can't find them, try the dollar store haha

I am referring to this topic only. Anything else you take it upon yourself and the other person but if you wish to use this information then thats your decision.

Gave my daughter the UK Binder today. She was so excited!....especially when she saw the limited edition Master Eon card. Sunday she will get the GITD Fright Rider from the UK. Should be fun!

Umm... Stupid question time - are the US and UK cards different?

I ask because I opened the few packs I got with the TRU exclusive binders and there were a few cards that I did not have already - they are now in the collection with the Oz/UK ones. (Well, I think the Oz ones are the same as the UK ones - I also have the tin coming from the UK so had intended to mix in whatever cards I don't have that I find in those packs).

Other then the Topps Europe Limited 2012 vs 2012 Topps. www.topps.com #(8 digits) line on the back, the first 32 cards from the USA have the Skylanders history on the back compared to Giants logo and small picture.
