Painted a drill sergeant silver/blue/white instead of gold/red/black, painted voodoos skull gold, spiffed up crushers hammer, and goldified terrafin's knuckles. Pictures tomorrow.

well, i had spyro in a charging position, but it fell off,

. i used white acrylics, and before it dried, i sprinkled...........no, thoroughly coated it with ultra-fine white glitter, and left it to dry. i also painted my hidden treasure glitter, but i couldnt find it.

oh, and you might want to use silver/very light grey instead of white acrylics. they came out waaaaayy too light.

Also, i didnt have gold/silver acrylics, so i used some oil-based paints that hold reaaaaally well and make a nice, shiny, finished paint job that i dont have to shine up using plastic enamel/plastic spray sheeny stuff.

Gold/silver acrylics are horrible, use testors oil based gold silver, but everything but gold silver is regular acrylics. And drill sergeant, well, he was easy. Not hard at all. Xerokills deserves more credit, he works for a long time with the paint; it took me approx. 8 hours to finish all my customs opposed to the 3-4 hours on one figure xerokills spends.

Really? I have had great quality with the Acrylic Silver by Craftsmart (Michaels sells it) and Dazzling Metallics (Emperor's gold) I got it at a local store Fred Meyer. It produces an awesome gold. If you are expecting things to apply in one coat, then it is gonna be thick and goopy and you will lose details. The only color that should cover in one pass pretty well is black...and maybe white.

But I do take a long time on mine to make sure it covers fully and will stand up to people playing with it. I do seal them out too. I found the Folkart Brand metallics are amazingly good for having a thicker coverage, but they dry quicker on your pallet and you need to use paint in smaller amounts to avoid waste. Invest more in brushes. I've expressed this before, but the better the brush, the finer the detail.

Go into the model section of Hobby Lobby and they have a set of wood handle brushes that are orange in color in a set of 5 brushes. Total cost with discount is about 3 dollars for the brushes. They have been the best I have bought for that price.

My other big suggestion. Work in bright light. Not direct light, but bright light that doesn't cast shadows. You need to see what you are painting. Open the blinds up or windows or sit at the kitchen table.

Always happy to give advice. Sparcrux try Folkart Silver. I think that'll get ya closer. Heard that the Martha Stewart works well too. Haven't tried hers. I should make a trip tomorrow to buy and test a few more bottles on my TB and Eye Brawl customs. I'm planning to just paint em to look more epic versions of their existing forms...no themes...just upgraded.

It is white acrylics painted on the character, and white, superfine glitter sprinkled over it.
