I'm not sure what to get out of 'Paper Mario: Sticker Star', 'Luigi's Mansion 2', and 'Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity'.

Get the latter two. Sticker Star is a disappointment, but that's just my opinion. <.<

Yeah, Sticker Star didn't have the same feel as the others, it wasn't that funny, it barely had a story, and it felt more like 3D Land than a Paper Mario game IMO.

Exactly. Apparently Miyamoto criticized the original build for being "too similar to The Thousand Year Door." Which isn't a problem since it had been over 8 years since that game was released when Sticker Star went on sale. ;~;

Luigi's Mansion 2 is amaaaaazing.
I hope they continue the series or at least give the game some DLC (though I'm saying this before I've gotten that far into the game).

I have been wanting to play that game, right after the GameCube version of course, but I haven't found the time to buy them, or at least rent them.

You know, even though I love Mario games, I think that there are a LOT of new Mario games recently, and very similar to past games. Maybe it's because they want to give the newest consoles more promotion... but I think they might be overdoing it smilie

True, I believe all the new Mario games coming out right now are sequels. It would be nice to see something new, which I was expecting Super Mario 3D World to be, but it turns out it just a sequel to SM3DL. Come on Nintendo, you made Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion, you can make something original again.

They are either running out of ideas, or they just want to continue something that gave them so much fame. I have never played Luigi's Mansion, but I can tell that it was a very original and unique game. And because of that, they want to continue the same style through sequels, while adding new features, but that at the same time, makes the game lose originality.

To add more, that new Mario & Luigi game. I must say, I really enjoyed the M&L trilogy, but I got rather disappointed when I found out about Dream Team. The same with Donkey Kong Country Returns. I thought it was just a remake of the original game, when I found out that it was a completely different story. The Donkey Kong Country trilogy was my very first gaming experience, and though I am a little happy that it is continuing after a long time, I would have prefer if it was something completely original rather than a sequel to such an amazing trilogy smilie

I think it's just Nintendo playing it REALLY safe. They're putting just making stuff that will sell for sure. Mega Man is Smash Bros. will definitely make it sell more, a new Mario Kart will sell like ....hotcakes? A remake of Wind Waker, of course people are gonna buy it. It would be nice if they were think of more original concepts for each of their franchises, they're just afraid none of them will sell because they're so different. Atleast there's no more New Super Mario Bros. games coming out right? ...Right?

Mario Kart 8 looks great. It seems like a near-perfect blend of Mario Kart Wii's flexible controls, wide variety of characters, vehicles and the challenge of unlocking them all while adding 7's unique twists like gliders, coins, underwater, possibly kart parts and of course, the new ability to race on walls and ceilings while adding it's own unique features. However, Super Mario 3D World just seems to lack a certain pizazz that Super Mario 64, Galaxy, Galaxy 2 and I presume Sunshine had. What I mean by this is that the levels in those games were open, mostly non-linear, had a sense of freedom that explorable worlds and no time limits allowed, had secret objectives embedded within each level, most notably in Super Mario 64 (and possibly Sunshine, though I haven't played it) and the worlds always seemed unique, never seeming to be like each other and always full of new features to play around with. 3D World just seems to lack these things. This was also the case in 3D Land, but I didn't really notice until now and I must say that I really didn't enjoy it as much as the other 3D titles.

Here's a little tidbit about Tropical Freeze. Former Rare, Ltd in-house composer David Wise, who did the music in the first 2 Donkey Kong Country games and Diddy Kong Racing, will be composing the music for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, replacing the Retro Studios in-house team, who did the jazzy soundtrack for Returns.

I like Donkey Kong Country Returns though. smilie It's almost as good as the original.

Is that so? Well, maybe I am judging too fast. Alright then, I might give it a try. It would be great to experience something from my past, while at the same time feeling something new smilie

You know, I found it rather amusing how many interesting games are set to be released this year that are very similar to past games, yet have features that look amazing, not to mention than most of these games are sequels to ones we know from a long time. Starting with Mario of course, you got Dream Team. The M&L games was a very conclusive trilogy, and I never expected a continue. And what about the Mario Bros? There are doing that pretty much lately.

Not only Mario, we have games like The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong. Who would have thought that after all this time, they would have made a sequel to the SNES DKC trilogy. And A Link Between Worlds, I don't know if it's a trilogy to A Link to the Past, or just a game that uses a similar style, but either way, it's going to be big.

So in other words, they are using past ideas to add new features. I would wish for something new, but I guess it's too risky. It's very difficult to come up with something both very original and good when people are already use to something. I am now glad it's going that way. Past generation can play those games to feel nostalgic and feel the modern added features, while newer generation can experience a little taste of how similar those amazing previous games were smilie

Has anyone realized that Mario characters are very oblivious. Mario was just standing there when the Koopalings kidnapped Peach with the cake. Peach just stood there while Bowser taunted her and the UFO's took her castle and her. smilie

^In what game was that? I imagined it was a very recent game, since I don't know about that plot. But I guess the reason for that it's because the character are so used to that... well, can we say routine?

This. It wouldn't be a very fun game if Mario saw the Koopalings jump out of the fake cake, beat them up, and the game ends. >.>

Well, Mario games are challenging, some more than others, but I don't think they are that hard, asides from the ones that I already mention. The oldest games are usually the hardest, though I must admit I had a hard time with Super Mario Galaxy and it's sequel.
