It's a fan film Red Welsh Dragon, being made by fans. No large film producing company such as Universal is involved with it in any way(not to my knowledge anyway).

I don't mean Universal as in the company. I mean it as in suitable for all ages. Y'know - films are rated so that like a 12 year old can't go and see a 15 rated film. See?

I am jamieque, the director/producer/writer of the upcoming film. The film is not going to be G rated. I have already made this statement clear in early comments. The film is a borderline PG/PG-13 rated film that will deal with Spyro and his friends in a way that is very different then the games. When the first movie poster is finally posted online next month you'll see what I mean. The slogan on the poster which is: "Witness the Evolution of A Franchise..." will give you a hint at the direction the film is taking. This film isn't a children's story. It is Spyro redefined for the older fans who have been sticking with the little guy since his birth nearly ten year ago.

I suggest you go check out my fanfiction series, Dragon of Destiny which this film serves as the prequel of to get a good idea of the future direction that the new Spyro story is currently heading. Oh, by the way, I am making future plans for casting for new characters that will appear in the Dragon of Destiny animated online series that is currently in development.

Yes, the plan currently for the film is to release it next November. The games should follow about a year later with the sequel, LOA 2 coming not long after that.

Okay, let's get something clear and straight right now...

Michael I fully respect what you are saying about the old storyline but the film isn't really the old storyline when you come down to it. The film is the start of a brand new storyline using the original one as a foundation and nothing more. Besides the older storyline is not as detailed as the one I am creating. I am going far beyond what Insomiac Games did.

As for the new storyline of Legend of Spyro that Krome Games created I am using it as well. I keep telling everyone to go check out the fanfiction series, which is version one of a currently in-development future animated online series, to see what I am doing but instead I keep getting comments like this. Look, I am sorry and I'll say it again... I am sorry you don't like fanfiction but if the original creators would respect the fans and actually ASK US what we want then there would be less fanfiction. Fanfiction is usually written by fans who want something more then what they are being given. Now, back to what I was saying... I'm blending both the old and new with some major twists and turns. Now, I understand that you may not like what I am doing but that isn't going to make me put the brakes on my plans. Sorry, but there is more going on here then any one on this forum realize. I can't go into details about those plans at the moment. Sorry...

Oh, and let's knock off any negative crap okay guys. Please, I am working very hard on this to give you guys something that should have happened years ago. Universal hasn't done anything like what I am doing and they have no intention of doing anything for this franchise for some time. How do I know this? Simple... I have sent emails and requested info from them repeatedly. I have heard alot of things I don't like. The direction of the Spyro franchise isn't looking so good despite the reboot. A sequel to Legend of Spyro is indeed coming but the announcement for it won't be for a while. As for whether the cast from the first game will return or not... that is up to them. They did sign a multi-game contract however it all depends on how things work out.

Now, back to what I am doing... I have invested nearly $100,000 dollars on this project and some of my own studio projects so at least cut me some slack... please. I am doing this for you guys. Please remember that I am not making any money off of this. This is my gift to you guys. I know you guys want a more mature Spyro story so that is what I am doing.

This film, LOA (Legacy of Ages) is the Prequel to the online fanfiction series, Dragon of Destiny which is on Fanfiction.NET, Spyroforum.com and also on Deviantart.com. It sounds really neat now - the sort of film about dragons that I would defintiely watch and would love to see in the cinema (except that I do know that this is just an online one only)! You sound like you're doing a great job and I'd love to be a film animater one day that doesn't do the "little kids" films!

Is season one of the fan-fiction even finished? I checked Devianart and there were only three episodes, Spyroforum had only 2! Fanfiction didn't even recognize it.
