Nope. I have seen through the bells and whistles of the toys. It's clear their only purpose is to raise the price of the game. They may also prevent piracy, but Activision are obviously mostly concerned about money. The prevention of piracy means more money, though.

Activision gain a lot, but we hardly gain a thing from them, if anything (I personally don't gain from them).

I don't know why they had to do this to Spyro, and I'm talking about TLoS too. Why couldn't they keep the old Spyro so none of these wars would happen? I am a fan of all of these Spyros (well I can't say anything for Skylanders, but it seems cool) but it would be easier if they had just kept the old Spyro all the time....

Probably because they couldn't be bothered to think of something new to the original Spyro without copying any other ideas from other games, (looking at AHT) and they also started to just become mediocre, so they had to reboot it to try and bring it back to life, and that's all opinionated.

I personally think that they should have just ended the original series and left it, or at least try and think of new things to make the game better, instead of being lazy buy just rebooting it, but that's my opinion.

In a future, so many reboots will have people confused with what is going on in the Spyro Universe. I understand that people like new stuff for a change, but this has taken things too far.

Just find out you need to buy seperate toys to get all the levels, not just character toys...seriously, this is getting ridiculous...

And don't say their parents will buy them a bunch of toys regularly...they'll be lucky if they get the game at all in this recession.

Now that is a smart move. The children who get to love this game would want their parents to buy all the toys soo that they can proceed in the game. What a way to make more money than usual.

My problem is not that it's physical content.

My problem is that they are making this sort of content that is essential to enjoying the game (characters to play as, levels to play in). It should be on the disc, especially the characters.

I didn't say that your problem was physical content. I didn't say a damn thing.

I have already said a thousand times over that it's like DLC, and I'm sick and tired of repeating myself. It should be on the disc? Yes. Tell that to Capcom about MVC3, and Activision about Black Ops.

No, in the cases of other games, DLC is genuinely extra content that is not completed for the deadline, or is thought up after release.

And MvC3 had plenty of characters accessible without paying extra.
Skylanders makes you pay extra for any character.

It's going to be a pain in the pocket for most parents.

Nowadays 7 year olds have their own iPods... As we pointed out a few pages ago...

But those iPods are generally bought before the recession. Parents are always looking for cheap things for their kids now.

$10> are cheap. Perhaps not altogether but kids are also easier to fool nowadays. When they notice they're missing a toy, they'll probably just think it's a new toy, THEN they'll beg.

And a $249 multimedia device is not exactly cheap...

Remember, children are naive and easy to manipulate, so they are the main course for the big companies to make money.

But you have to remember that you don't just buy characters now, but Adventure Pack toys too. They should of just put it all on the DAMN DISC!!!!!!!!!! :B

I know... at this rate, you will have to buy consoles piece by piece too...

If you're talking about the kid thing, then yes it is. The game is directed towards children. It was confirmed by Activision themselves.
