I think it's false. Liam purposely says Skylanders "is cancelled" as an obvious video clickbait, when his video description says it's a "possibility"

They deleted it in the same week unfortunately, if I recall, but it was hilarious. Zap posted a fangame idea based on the leaks about Superchargers called "Skylanders Overdrive", with characters, plot and all. Later, NintendoWorldReport shows up with a "leak", and we fell for it until someone noticed/remembered Zap's thread.

It's important to make the distinction that Nintendoworldreport did not report this or the video (unless they've updated since I last looked). A guy who writes there reposted the video via his personal twitter feed with some of his own commentary.

Right or wrong, this wasn't an action taken by the site, so it's not something you can fairly attach to the site.

He still has FUNnel Vision, that weird Max Adventures channel, he still has FGEETV and Funkee Bunch, and whatever channels are on his weird network.
He'll be sad, his kids too, but they'll probably finish their stuff with Imaginators and whatever stuff they have planned, and maybe an occaisonal hunting vid for rares, then he'll end the channel.

Honestly whenever Skylanders is cancelled I'll feel a bit sorry for his kids with how much they love Skylanders, but at least we won't ever have to hear all their singing, screaming, singing while screaming... plus if I'm being honest here, they're extremely spoiled. The end of Skylanders will finally give those kids a dose of reality, not being sponsored by Activision after that.

That's what most Spyro fans say. But if Skylanders go down, Spyro follows. It's only thing that's keeping Spyro alive after all. Thanks to it, children who play Skylanders or watch the show know who Spyro is.

Spyro fans had been hoping for years for Activision to make a solo Spyro game, but who's to say they won't do that and simply let Spyro go down with the ship with Skylanders?

Saturday morning cartoon (Netflix is great, but you get a broader audience if it was on Saturday morning)
Monitor your Facebook page and help new portal masters
Announcement on releases and what to look for in the release
Official list of figures that have been produced so there's no speculation like superchargers burn cycle varaint which was only sold out of dana point (or close to dana point) California on eBay ..leaving speculation
Better co-op
More ideas on using old skylanders in new games

These changes would help the games be better for some of the players that are still into the series, but I don't think they would solve the main issue: Interest in Skylanders and Toys-to-Life in general has decreased a lot.

The biggest issue is - lack of game play. Period.

Each game is *easily* a $1,000+ investment for the hardcores, a $500+ investment for the middle-grounder, and a $250+ investment for casual fans.

Imagine, for a moment, that Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft released a new system every year, it ran $500, and played one game that is, for most purposes, rather short, rather easy, and did not really offer much in the way of replayability. Because that's really what you get with Skylanders. You sink more than the cost of a new system into each game, year after year... then, they release something like Battlecast that says "All your figures are useless, now go buy these trading cards (that you can't even really trade well)."

Activision should have been working on releasing more games that offer varying game play while using our existing figures. Sports-like titles, racing as a stand-alone game, a party game, a 2D platformer, a full-on PVP title... give me something that justifies spending hundreds of dollars every month.

But, how do we know that? For all we know, Activision could let Spyro go down with the ship if they wanted to. And that would definitely be good-bye to our purple dragon.

Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised if they used Skylanders Spyro in their remastered games if they wished.
