- Players can race each other online.
- The elite team of Racers is called "Overdrive Omegas" These characters have a Overdrive meter you build up then activate to increase the speed and attack of your character for about 20 seconds. They also provide and advantage during the racing segments of the game. These characters have horrible defense and health stats.

Back on topic, the HDroom article did at least confirm the prototype is really for this game and not just some reject skylander who happened to be a Supercharger. The reveal draws ever closer..

If the actual gameplay innovation includes real life footage, then I'm definitely more intrigued. Maybe they're stealing the tech from the "new and improved" Guitar Hero.

With the whole "fabric of time" is split thing, I wouldn't be surprised if the Skylanders World and Our World are superimposed together. Calling it now!

I have a hard time believing vehicles since the 250+ skylanders created won't fit in them unless they are gigantic and putting a car on a portal like a magic item seems kinda lame. Plus we already have skylanders on vehicles such as Fryno, sprocket, boom jet, tread

Nuts and Bolts' gameplay was just okay for what it tried to be. But as a racing game, it was a boring watered down version where building is more fun than racing, and as a Banjo-Kazooie game it liked to insult the previous games WAY too much to get my respect("heh who wants to play plataformers nowadays we need to go casual" well maybe the BK fans who heard of this to begin with). VV wouldn't try that unless they really want to cause damage to the franchise.

'IF' there are vehicles involved I will be interested to see how they work it. I don't get why Skylanders need them, but perhaps that will be explained. I mean, there are portals to travel long distances plus a number of the Skylanders fly. It's always been a little ridiculous that flying Skylanders can't fly very high and need to jump, or use bounce pads, but I understand the limitations of the game.

But given all of that, how ridiculous would it be to have Spyro the flying dragon driving a vehicle of some kind. Or worse still, Treadhead who is a vehicle, in another vehicle?

Of course it might not work that way. I am intrigued, but mainly because it sounds to ridiculous. But then again Skylanders with swapable bodies also sounded ridiculous but ended up being ok. And Skylanders taking control of Arkeyan robots didn't detract from the enjoyment of the earlier games, but it also wasn't the main gimmick.

Video Game Logic. It's why Mario can be Sonic running in the Olympics and why Sonic needs a race car for speed.

Besides, flying is probably a lot of manual labor. I'd say if Spyro was going into battle, if he can save his energy for the fight instead of the flight, it'd be for the best, right?

Yeah, I have always found quite weird that flying Skylanders can't really fly very high and I wish they could. However, is true that the whole level design should be adapted to this feature.

I'm trying not to be very concern about the new gimmick, because the fact is that even if I don't like the idea, I guess I will able to play skylanders as I have always done and only go through the vehicles thing when strictly necessary. To be fair, however, let's wait to see if the rumours are true.
