Got Gnarly Tree Rex yesterday, today he is for sale for 300 gems? [CLOSED]

When Gnarly Tree Rex popped up as free, I selected him and even sent him on a couple of quests.

Today, I went to select him and he was for sale for 300 gems.

I'm devastated. What do I do?

Uh, update: he's back, at least for now? Not sure what happened. After double-checking that I was logged into Activate and hard closing the app, he was still for sale, but I just checked again and he's there.
