I just turned level 30 and was expecting the game to gift me a random Skylander as it also did at levels 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25. Did they stop that since you can now get Skylanders in exchange for gold?

I wasn't sure if level 30 gave a Skylander or not (since it used to be the max level before Mayor Grizz). But I just hit 25 and got nothing. It's sad, as the amount it costs to spin for a new Skylander is ridiculous. 2,500,000 gold is a bit much since 1,500,000 is worth 3,000 gems (according to the "Buy Gold" chart). Is that the same for everybody, or is it because I'm at such a high level? If I had to buy 3,000 gems (plus some to get to 2,500,000), I could buy 15 Skylanders at 200 gems a piece (less for Giants, specials, and Legendaries) before I could spin. And I would be able to choose the Skylanders I want.

Yes, but realistically, it's WAY easier to get Gold than Gems. So for all of those players that constantly have their sanctuaries going and adventures and stuff, it's actually much more ideal. You don't have to spend real money to get Gold whereas with Gems, you really do if you want to buy everything.

According to what I've seen with my younger sister it must be because you already have lots of skylanders.

For me, at level 35 every spin costs 5,000,000.

My sister, who started playing just last week had the following values for spins 2,500 -> 5,000 -> 10,000 -> 25,000 -> 50,000 -> 100,000 -> 250,000 -> 500,000. We don't know yet what follows after since now she has to save some more gold for spins.

Does it max out at 5 million? I'm at level 35 and mine was something like 2,500, 1.5 million, 5 million. I haven't taken the 5 million plunge because I figure they might be half off on some sale day like everything else.

Yes. I spun about 5 times with the cost of 5,000,000 every time to complete my skylanders collections.

I had the same thought, but thought it was still a high price. I'm at level 25 and just finally hit the 3 million mark on coins (and that's just spending gold on crops and the buildings needed to fulfill objectives and a few islands during the 1/2 off sale), and much of that was due to the double gold last weekend. It takes a lot of work to get that much. I couldn't imagine someone just starting being able to get them. But seeing other posts, it seems they are related to how many Skylanders you have or how many you have already won (the latter seems more likely). Luckily, for me, I think I ended up getting my Legendary Bash with the 2,500 gold initial spin smilie

I turned level 30 and didn't get my free skylander smilie I don't reallynsee the point of leveling anymore. Just some buildings that will level me faster, again for no reason... except to hit the endgame sooner?

I know that Skylander purchases are locked by level. That's a change that happened long after it affected me so maybe that's a goal for some people. But at the end of the day Lost Islands is a time management game. Your goal from the very beginning is to hit max level.

My skylanders weren't locked, with the exception of Ramses or the Mayor who don't adventure anyway... I guess I am odd in that getting to max level was mever my personal purpose of playing. I enjoyed seeing the new skylanders and the different goals each one brought to the game. I cared about leveling my kingdom only because it gave me a new character to play with. So, fror me, no free skylanders every five levels, kinda sucks and I don't care about leveling now.
