I have landed on them! If you glide too short, a forcefield like the one in Stone Hill (where you cannot surpass the pillars and get repeled) will rebound you and you will drown.

Guys, those forcefield things are in more places than you can think of. There are two locations in Stone Hill: Between those pillars and far out sea. Here's a screenshot of me getting bounced:

I can guess force field of some sort is in every level. They are certainly in Spyro 2 and 3, where hitting invisible wall makes you lose control, pretty literally. This wall appeared in this disscussion

That's interesting... But I wonder; Did Insomniac not feel the need to include those visible fields in the other games due to rushing or did you actually hit an end coordinate in the course's plane?

I guess Insomniac didn't include visible force fields because they are never really used in-game. In most cases they are suffisciently far away there is no possibility to reach it. In superfly powerup levels there is another layer of blockage (like in Spyro 3's SBR) which simply redirects you

So you have made it past the speedway's second layer to reach the primary one? Physics in this game are rather odd...

No, I didn't. Primary barrier is easily accesible in all levels without superfly. Cheat Engine cheating makes it easy to do smilie

It's weird how you don't see those forcefields too often in the games, I mean, without trying to look for them like what you're doing. In the first Spyro, I think you only get to the forcefield once in Stone Hill, and once again in Cliff Town. And then in Spyro 2, there's one in Robotica Farms. AND THAT'S IT. I have managed to get to those hills in Town Square because I had the Infinite Health cheat from a CD by Xploder with Blaze, and so I could keep going on and on to the edges of the level.
