They never told why they were closing it, but one of the possible reasons is because not many users are playing the game.

This game didn't hold my attention very long but I always came back to add my skylanders and update my skylands.

Always viewed it as an added value to my figures ("Hey theres also an online game I can play these with!") so I'm sad to see it go.

RIP Skylanders Universe!

It's a beta - the whole point is to test the game for bugs, to see who uses it, how many people use it, how often people use it ETC. They must've reached a point where they were going over the statistics and decided that it wasn't working for whatever reason; which is probably why they didn't introduce any updates for months or even update the blog.

If enough people didn't use it then it wasn't going to be viable to host all the accounts and the games themselves then they would have decided not to bother with it anymore. You can complain about it all you want, but it's probably down to a lot of users on this website who didn't go on it frequently enough smilie

Although a reasonably thought explanation...we don't REALLY know. All I know is that showing off the collection and getting the code from my skylander if you lost your web code can only be done through here...so they have a pickle of a problem on their hands from a support perspective. I suspect they are going to a platform where you have to have the physical toy, to cut down on the "let me use your code" crew of misfits.
