Disney Infinity Delayed and Ready for Pre-Order [CLOSED]

Well the title says it all. Disney Infinity has now been delayed from some time in June to August 18th in North America and August 20th in Europe. Sounds to me like a way to compete with Swap Force.

The game as well as THE FIGURES (take note, Activision) are also now up for pre-order from Amazon, GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy, Toys R Us and even The Disney Store.

The following is in 'Wave 1'.

- Starter Pack which includes the game, Infinity Base, online web codes, one Power Disk, three characters (Mr. Incredible, Jack Sparrow and Sully) and three Playsets from their respective movies (The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean and Monsters University)

- Cars Playset which includes the Cars Playset and two characters (Lightning McQueen and Holly Shiftwell)

- Nine Character Single Packs including Mrs. Incredible, Dash, Violet and Syndrome (The Incredibles), Davy Jones and Captain Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean), Mike Wazowski (Monsters University) and Tow Mater and Francesco Bernoulli (Cars)

- One Character Three Pack called The Sidekick Pack. Includes Mrs. Incredible, Captain Barbossa and Mike Wazowski all for a cheaper price.

- Series 1 Power Disk Blind Packs. Includes one round disk and one hexagonal disc. 20 different Power Disks in Series 1. Featuring the following franchises (Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Bolt, Dumbo, Cars, Toy Story, Cinderella, Lilo & Stitch, Mulan, Wreck It Ralph, Finding Nemo, Tangled, Pirates of the Caribbean, Up and Mickey Mouse).

Well that is everything announced so far. No pre-order bonuses yet at any store and Toys R Us already has jacked up prices for everything...

Yeah, of course im gonna go and blow 500 dollars on some crap disney game where i cant even use characters cross wrolds, and have to BUY other worlds. The $2 per figure pokemon is MUCH more appealing then $15 loads of junk.

Best buy doesn't have the actual order thing active yet but it says

"Right now, when you pre-order Disney Infinity, you can receive a free collectable character that can be imported into the game."

I want to know if it is a character you can't get anywhere else.. or if you can just buy it separately later....

I am not sure about this yet, if Star Wars is released I will be interested. The initial 3 the only one I would get is Pirates. So I think Swap Force will be the game I get. Disney I may wait until Marvel, Avengers or Star Wars sets are released.

I love Disney, so I'm buying this game first.

Swap Force not only looks better graphically but the figures don't look like Fisher Price toys. Infinity is neat if you're a Disney fan but they missed the adult audience when it comes to the figures

Ah well...

I might get it on Black Friday when everything gets dirt cheap.

But I will pre-order a mike to pick up.

It's called a design choice, it was the same thing with the graphics in LOZ Wind Waker. People didn't like the graphics until they played the game.

It says you can add the figure you want to your cart and it will be deducted. Yes nothing is listed yet, but this means it will be any regular figure. No exclusive.

Don't even compare Wind Waker to the design choice of the Infinite figures. Apples and Oranges.

Unless the adventure pack is 8 hours+ for each, they can hang it up as a gaming platform. That's about the right amount of gaming time to justify as many characters as they are intending per environment.

If they would have all characters look like they did in the movies, it wouldn't mix. They couldn't have real Jack Sparrow with a talking car and a blue monster.

And personally, the design for WW and this are not that different.

Infinity is coming out 8/18. All the retailers will be having several big pre-sell offers, so if you're interested, definitely wait to see what comes out in the next couple of months. Personally, I don't have any interest in it, but once things get closer, I'll see if my son perks up about it. Target will be offering several pre-sell offers, including one where you get a free character, free collector coin, giftcards, yada, yada, yada...you'll be inundated with Infinity news the next few months, so just wait until you see a pre-sell offer that you like.

I agree the game is obviously better technically speaking but it's the gameplay I'm more interested in. IMO the feel I've seen from SSF toys seem more cheap/cartoony looking than SSA and SG. It's not appealing to me actually. I hope that changes in hand.

Obviously they can't make them look exactly the same. My point is, they went with a FisherPrice look.

Any idea of how much the blind packs will cost? I don't want to be paying to much if there is a chance I could end up with doubles.

The price is $4.99 a pack. I'm sure if the game really catches on, there will be forums (maybe even here?) where you can trade doubles.

Blind backs are just discs?
And that's where the interesting movies are from?

They shouldn't be making mistakes so early.

Well not really the whole movie. You just get a piece of the movie, like Cinderella's Carriage for example.

More Playsets will be announced and released in time. Disney plans on keeping this game going for years to come.

With the lack of Marvel/Star Wars licenses my only interest was really with the Pirates....maybe Wreck-it Ralph. Certainly not enough of them to really make me rush out at the time being. The concept of blind packs, pretty much killed the small amount of interest I might have had. Looks like I'll be sticking with Swap Force fully on this one.

you can pre-order at Bestbuy.com. just search for disney infinity (dont use the link) and add a starter pack then you can add any single character to your cart and it will come up free.

I'm a huge Disney fan but I'm not going to get this game because of the prices and I highly doubt most of my favorite movies (Oliver and Company, Great Mouse Detective, Robin Hood) will be in it.

what about the duck universe with donald duck and uncle scrooge etc.. playing online in duckburg with creation mode, that would be something i will pay for. and while at it also release goofy and mickey mouse too, that would be cool...

Earlier in a topic, I posted no to DI but now.I am not sure about SSF or DI. My sister won't let me get DI... Then again, I guess I could get the 3DS version.
