So I know a lot of people say Skylanders is a money pit and a rip off.

Check out Disney pricing,

http://www.officialnintendomag...price-revealed/

A "playset" with 2 figures and a level unlock item selling for around £40.

Figures starting at £12.99.

I will not be buying into this.

£40 for a Play Set was a holding price from Amazon and wasn't the final price. The final price, from the Disney Store themselves, is £29.99 for a Play Set.

£12.99 for a character is not bad when they are bigger than you average skylander, and in my opinion are of higher quality.

Wy did you feel the need to make this topic?

For one, whether you think they are a rip-off or not, its news that is slightly related.
I see a lot of people on here commenting on Disney Infinity.

Your title does not state that it is news, rather that Disney Infinity is a massive rip off, which it is not in comparison to Skylanders.

In addition I believe that that article has already been referenced on this forum making this topic very much Non News.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned here, I did have a quick look and couldn't see any link to confirmed pricing here.

Yes the topic is my view, but its a view on news. People are quite free to make their own minds up based on the link.

Sorry if I trod on anybodies toes or broke rules.
I figured this area and this topic would be the right place to mention something of interest.

If the game is a rip-off, then everything in the world is a rip-off of something.

Unless he/she's referring to the prices.

If not, gaming is a very iterative media. A lot of good games came from copying other games and adding their own spin on things. Starcraft is one of the biggest eSports around and it's entire design is based on Warhammer 40,000. Minecraft is based on Infiniminer, Terraria is a cross between Metroidvania games and Minecraft, etc, etc.

Well, it doesn't really concern me, I won't be getting games like this anyway.
And I never pay full price for a video game, I can sort of justify it, but then again, I can't. It's awkward.
My Dad paid full price for a video game, only once, and that was for GTA 4, we thought it was going to be really good because of the previous games on the PS2, especially because of San Andreas, and when we got to play it, we was really disappointed with it, so if you're paying full price for a video game that you don't know too much about, you've got to be sort of lucky when it comes to actually liking it. £15 to £20 seems more of a reasonable price for a game than £40, or £30. But that's just my opinion. Nowadays, I guess you could say that it takes a lot more people to develop a video game.

I hate it when I see people complaining about prices when here-
Games range from $80-$100+
Skylanders figures already cost more than $15+ so this isn't that bad
'Stralia.

Other than the toys, Infinity is a greatly different game.
