Playstation 2 on PSP? [CLOSED]

Hey you all. I was just wanting to know if the ability to play Playstation 2 games on the PSP will be in action someday. We can play Playstation 1 games on the system, so I'm hoping the same for the PS2 so I can play my favorites on there, I especially want to play A Hero's Tail on the go.

Unlikely. The PSP is dead thanks to the PlayStation Vita. Sony has discussed the possibility of bringing PS2 games to the PlayStation Network, but that wouldn't help. <.>

Well, considering the Vita has cross-play with the PS3, I think the Vita could handle PS2 games. It's just a matter of if Sony wants to make any available.

How many bits can a vita support? Personally, I would love old PS2 games to be for the Vita. Especially since the PS3 isn't backwards compatible. <.>
Edit: Wait, do they still measure graphics by bits? I'm somewhat confused..

No, they don't measure by bits. But like I said earlier, the Vita can support games like Sly 4 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which came out on the PS3 too. So it should be able to handle the PS2. <.<;

That's great to hear. Personally I'm totally wiling to get the PSP Vista as long as we get to play PS2 games on it in the future.

So far, the PS2 games available on the PS Store are NOT compatible with the Vita. They're PS3 only.

Yeah, well if Sony really wanted to sell Vitas, they'd put some PS2 games on the PSN for the Vita. <.<;

I think they're more focused on the PS4-Vita link, rather than trying to get these games to run on the handheld. Personally, I wouldn't be too bothered, as the PS2 games I'd most be interested in are in/are going to be in HD collections/HD re-releases. (ICO + SotC, Okami, KH, FF10 to name a few)

Well if the PS4 won't have backwards compatibility then I REALLY think they should put some PS2 games on it.
