Where the Dead Go to Die

well, it's been compared to A Serbian Film if that tells you anything about how ****ed up it is. only, ASF seems to have more of a point/meaning behind it ("anti-political correctness," parodying other PC Serbian films, the desperation of a man ensuring his family's survival, whatever the director said to justify it), while WtDGtD is just disturbing and over-the-top disgusting for the sake of pleasing goreaphiles. i can't see any deeper meaning in its three random plots (hell, i don't even really know what happened), or any real point to its existence. the animation and voice acting is terrible too. don't watch it. just don't do it.

i need some fluff. brb, watching Beauty and the Beast

Also, Civil War's Spiderman is the best Spiderman (of the live-action movies)

Just finished The Book of Life. Definately did good in not watching in the theaters,but fun nonetheless! Had plenty of flaws and one of the main characters is a by the books Mary Sue(with other characters also being too one-note or not fitting at all), but the visuals and the plot didn't fall on the lazy answers and there are some incredibly strong moments.

Rio 2. It was... Fine, I guess. It had so much subplots inside it, making he movie a little confusing, but nothing bad. I actually laughed more than I tough I would be. Plus the visuals are incredible and good part of the soundtrack is good, which is surprising considering that I'm not a big fan of Brazilian songs.

Saw Finding Dory over the weekend. I enjoyed it and it was definitely more Toy Story 2/3 than Monsters University/Cars 2.

There was one jarring thing about the movie and that's...

Why the heck is there music straight out of a James Bond film in a movie about fish? I get Thomas Newman composed Skyfall and Spectre, but every time Hank's on screen I feel like I'm listening to James Bond music. Even Sia's cover of "Unforgettable" sounds like it should be playing over James Bond opening credits.

But that's just me. <.>;

Finding Dory.

I haven't really seen any of the Pixar films between Toy Story 3 and Inside Out, but I feel like this film is a much more fitting "return to form" for Pixar than Inside Out was, which was grossly overrated and decent at best.
Possibly as good as the original. Probably still not as good as Zootopia. Felt a lot like Pixar showing off their visual technology and how far it's come since 2003, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

In the truck when it jerks and all the fish move one tank over, there has to have been a tank at the end where the fish just fell out and hit the floor right? When the truck jerks back again and the fish jump back to their original tanks, chances are any fish from that last tank in the line just got jerked to another part of the floor logically speaking.

So did those unseen fish just die?

Astro Boy (2009)

With a concept like Astro Boy with it's dark and emotional themes, this film could have been great. The overly fast pacing, terrible writing and awful voice acting killed it. (I'm mainly talking about Nicolas Cage and Donald Sutherland who sounded like they didn't give a ****.) Now I remember why I didn't see this at release.

The junkyard fight scene is the highlight of the film. The rest was a little too focused on Richard Pryor's character. When the original, non remixed superman theme plays for the first time..... Oh ****

It was alright. There were things I really liked, things I really didn't like, and things that confused the heck out of me. Hopefully Alien: Covenant will improve on what made Prometheus great and not make it so jumbled and all over the place.
