It's got to be the controls. Maybe you should try it on an actual console? I think i'll hunt down the ISO (snesorama closed down, so PS1 roms are scarce) and try it myself.

I don't have anything but a DSi, so I can't try it on a real console. Try it, and see if it works.

I'll try that, I must hook up the console first. Better yet i'll download it and do it from the emulator. I'm sure it'll work for me.

I played a demo of it with Skelos Badlands and Sunny Beach on them. The only difference I noticed was the music; some instruments in the final music of those realms were missing in the demo. I'll play it again to see if there's anything else.

Edit - Okay, here's something else. Hunter was refered to as "the Hunter" in a little intro at the beginning.

Yeah, I had that. The music on the 'Choose your Demo' screen really freaked me out as a kid. Was the dic grey with circles on it by any chance?

Also, I'm believe that you go 'Do a Barrel Roll' on it like in Spyro 1. But they removed it in the final version of Spyro 2.

I'm a fan of the classic series, specifically Spyro 2. I love that game!

^I use ISOs, so I don't know how the disc looks like. I think you can do a barrel roll, but I never did any barrel rolls in Spyro 1, so I wouldn't do one on Spyro 2's demo, either.

^Yeah, I never did "A Barrel Roll!" on Spyro 1 either, but I just pressed the L1 (or L2) and R1 (or R2) buttons by accident and it made Spyro "Do A Barrel Roll!"

That demo is Winter Jampack 99. This is the one I'm analyzing.

The code for Spyro 2 in CTR is L1 and R1 down circle triangle and right. I have the manual so this is the code.

I think they were going to bring back Barrel Roll.

I believe they were.

Adding to the topic, the only beta element not mentioned yet (as far as I'm aware) is that the part at 1:42 on this vid in Autumn Plains: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Ja2bYmm1U was originally going to be filled with water all around.

It's always made me wonder if there's a prototype lurking out there with that part still on it. I know a few prototypes have been released, but the owners are collectors who don't want to share the secrets, unfortunately.

A prototype? Where did you hear about that?

Spyro Classic Fan forever. I highly despise Activision and Skylanders. Problem? Shove it.
