Low Battery issues [CLOSED]

Has anyone else been having battery issues with their portal of power. Specifically for PS3, but for Wii and 3DS too I suppose. I'm not 100% positive that I'm having battery issues, but troubleshooting through the portal lists, changing the batteries has been the only thing that I've been able to do. I've had to change them 4 times since Sunday and when I try to put old batteries back in, it doesn't work for more than a minute.

I had the game since last Friday, the batteries went low on Tuesday and I didn't even play the game at all on Saturday or Sunday. I put some rechargeable batteries in the portal on Wednesday but then they ran out of power on the same day. Just yesterday, I bought some non rechargeable batteries and hopefully they'll last longer.

Well, I'm hoping they solve this issue with a wired portal. I don't even know why they released a ps3 accessories that couldn't plug in. Everything can usually plug in, even the wireless ones. You can't charge the portal or plug in into the wall or console. Awefully annyoing.

This post is legit. I know this because I did what they said... ...and before this post even. I talked to Activision support over the phone and they hooked me up with a way to get a new free portal, since 5-6 hours battery life is not the standard, apparently. Unfortunately, there still is no wired portal for the PS3 version and no other information on future character released could be spoke of (of course), but I'm hoping the the new portal I receive doesn't give me nearly as many problems.

Just as an FYI: rechargeable batteries are amazing versus regular alkaline but, unfortunately, you get what you pay for. You really want to look for Eneloop or Pre-Charged Duracell batteries. These batteries will retain 80% or more of their charge over a year. Also, unfortunately, most rechargers are crap and nearly all "fast rechargers" will decrease the maximum mAmps of rechargeables significantly. I'd highly recommend looking on Amazon for a good recharger from LaCrosse or another comparable company.

I have 8 Eneloop batteries which last me 30% longer than Alkaline (2000mAmps vs 1500mAmps) cycled in to my two Wii remotes for over three years now with literally 100s of hours of gameplay; to give you some idea.

I understand being weary about anyone claiming to be from any company.

Though because of me having to check several different sites a day the easiest way to contact me directly will be through the provided Twitter or Facebook link. Also, if you need any assistance in my off hours you can also contact us using any of the other contact links posted.

When I called support, I just told them that I was only getting about 4-6 hours of play time per set of batteries (I did keep track of play time to verify). I also asked if that was standard for the portal. The CSR said no, and that I would need a replacement portal. Had them fill out the info they needed (email addy/name/shipping addy) while on the phone with them. They sent me an email with a link to a prepaid UPS label, but it did not come from Activision, it came from “Repair Centre”. Seeing that the game is so new did not have to give them a copy of purchase recipt.

Printed shipping label, boxed and sent out, now just waiting for the new one to arrive.

If you call, go through the menus untill you get to the point where you have said skylanders and then say "agent" that will get you to a person, or in que quickly.

So they aren't doing advance exchange? In other words, they're having you send in your portal before you get one back? That's horrible customer service.

Hey, Activision rep, are you reading this? Advance Exchange is what you need to be implementing for this issue.

A lot of people I have spoken to actually want their XBox version to be wireless as it is much more convenient for them to have the portal near them and the cord does not reach that far.

Well I have gone through the RMA process with Activision. I sent my portal out on November 10th and got it back December 1st. Quite a time without being able to play!

True to their word, Activision sent me a brand spanking new portal complete with the USB wireless receiver for my Wii, so now I have 1 portal and 2 wireless receivers. I had confirmed with a CSR before I shipped the old portal, that I was not to include the receiver. So, I guess I am lucky to now have a spare receiver. I am currently testing the battery life with this new portal, and will post my results.

In my opinion, advanced exchange should be implemented for replacing portals. Once they had received my old portal (November 16th) I did not hear a thing from them until November 22nd. All I got was an email stating that my RMA status had changed. When I checked it, it said that a UPS shipping label has been generated. The replacement did not ship until the 28th. Over all I am a bit dissatisfied with the RMA process, things could have been better. I would have liked to hear some feedback from them, was there an issue with the portal? Or was it just replaced to keep the customer happy? Why did take so long to send a replacement back? 6 days from when the initial UPS shipping label was created to actual ship out, unacceptable in my book. I hope if ActivisionFlav is reading this, that he/she can pass this along to Activision.

I've been having a lot of battery issues with my Wii portal. If the battery life is down by 50%, than the portal doesn't work. I have to use brand new heavy duty Duracell batteries constantly because the Portal drains them so fast. I had to change them two times yesterday when I wasn't playing that long.

my portal is almost exactly like yours except the portal doesnt drain them that fast but my portal wont work with them if they're below 50%. I found this out when I put batteries into the portal that were previously in one of my spare wii motes and it did not turn on for those batteries either so I put them back into the wii mote and the battery power was at 50%

I would not take the Wii battery life display as gospel as I know from experience that the time taken to get to the "50%" mark on the Wii remote battery display is longer than the time taken to drain the batteries to nothing (well, unusable). That display is merely based on a projection of potential difference and is not an exact metric.
