I'm looking at getting Skylanders, because it looks like a great game. My question is, does each figure only hold one player's data? In other words, for my three kids and myself, would each family member have to get their own set of figures, or would one per household be sufficient?

If that's the case, it's a definite no go in our house. I don't mind buying the game and one set of figures, but to expect a family to buy the same figures for each kid is nuts.

So if my son starts a game on his gamertag, and I start a new one on mine, all his data will move to my game?

The toys store experience and upgrades but not progress through the story. So if you share a Spyro you'll both be giving it experience and coins but you'll both be able to play through the game individually.

Ok, that clears things up a bit. Maybe I have to play it a bit to understand it more. As you can understand, I don't want to be spending hundreds of dollars buying four of everything.

They only hold one persons data but can be played on all systems.

Families should share anyhow.

You only have to buy one each if you dont want all the same up grades or to have your skylander back to level 0 when someone resets him and a seperate game data

Wouldn't a figure that's been levelled up be a hinderance to another person that starts the game from scratch later? Or would the figure be reset by doing that?

I haven't got the game, but I've heard you can reset the figures back to level 1. I'm sure your kids could level the characters up together, though; when I was younger, I shared a Pokemon game with my brother and we'd play it with eachother, levelling them up. Wish I'd had this instead smilie

Not sure if you know, but just want to add that the game itself comes with 3 characters, and from then on you can buy others, though it's completely optional. One character still gets you through the game.
