Spyro's dad? [CLOSED]

What's you opinion on the mysterious adult dragon in the back of the manual? It's obvious that the dragon is eithor Spyro's father, or at least Spyro himself when he is older. I always hoped that the very last dragon you rescued was his father, but after beating the game over and over many times and never coming across him one must assume he was only a passing idea during the games production.

I think it's Spyro years after his adventures and that medallion round his neck could be a reward for saving the world.

Maybe the medallion is the Shadow Stone from Shadow Legacy?

Actually, if you right-click it when it's up there in the Random box and click 'Save As', the default file name for it is 'Papa'... X3

This wouldn't be possible as Shadow Legacy came waaay after Spyro the Dragon.

But yeah, I always thought it was either Spyro or Spyro's dad.

Hmm...well it could be Spyro's dad. It could also be another dragon that Insomniac meant to put into the game, but ran out of time to do so. It could also be just a piece of Concept Art that one of Insomniac's artists did, and Insomniac decided to include on the Manuel disc so that it wouldn't be forgotten.

The pitcure of this dragon is not included on my manual, probably because it is PAL. American covers always look so much better than PAL.

The makers of Shadow Legacy could've intended it though. It's not a bad theory.

I think it was spyros dad because he has kind of black spikes on his back. spyros mom might have yellow and orange spikes. unless your spike color changes with age like hair does. the medalion might be for bravery

Well, the most original idea was maybe Spyro was already an older dragon who was already a hero to the Dragon realms?

Or as Alice Carp said, it could be just him in the future with a medallion that was rewarded to him after saving all the worlds of the Dragon Realms.

What I think about this is that it could just be some unused concept art and Insomniac decided to put it in the manual. They probably were gonna put Spyro's dad in the game, but they decided to remove him, but kept his concept art. *shrugs*

After looking back at Spyro's original concept art back at Spyro's origin, I've come to the conclusion that the dragon said to be Spyro's father IS Spyro. One of the original designs of Spyro looks a whole lot like that one. They probably just used it to throw people off.

I don't think so. I've seen Spyro sketches on an official website which were the original sketches from the creator, and none of them show this drawing of Spyro. I keep thinking tht it would have been the final dragon that Goonro rescues, but InsomniGOON decided to take it out.

Yeah, that's nothing like any of the designs Charles Zembillas came up with for Spyro. I always figured that was older Spyro, after years of being a hero.

I don't think they cut any of the crystal dragons. There were 80 of them and they hired Oliver Wade just to finish the job on time.

I kind of see it, but not really. Spyro's design was finalized before they made any models for him, but I could see the Insomniac guys cannibalizing some of those ideas for the trapped dragons (that's what all those sketches remind me of more than anything else).

Like the dragons that stand on all fours kind of look like one of the earliest Spyro designs.

I wasn't sure at all who it was. Perhaps his father,or some relative.
We can only imagine,I'm sure. And no,spyro isn't an adult. Yes, he's "short for his age",but perhaps he's preteens? He's certainly not a 'small child'.

Classic Spyro was designed to be around 10-11 and his size and stance compared to the adult dragons certainly suggests that's his age (as does some of his behavior). We never got an official age for LoSpyro, but the toys released for TEN said he was 12 (from which fans infer that he is 15 in DotD, though there is debate about the validity of that assumption).

As mentioned above, I always thought this guy was just a look at Spyro when he grows up.

i think it's spyro when he's older. mostly because of the gold medallion around his neck, as a reward for saving the world. :P
or it could be his dad, since i'm not convinced about the different spikes on his back.

How did you actually think Spyro was an adult in this game? He's obviously just a kid.
