Unless I'm misunderstanding, one can play Skylanders on a computer instead of a console? If that were the case, I wouldn't have to buy a whole new system. Very convenient, to say the least. Anyone know if that's true or am I totally and completely mistaken?

Apparently, though don't get you're hopes up; there have been many rumours. The Wii is the only one that I'm certain it will be released on.

The 3DS is also certainly immanent.

It is not confirmed the exact same game will be on the PC, but AV says it'll come to it and get a Web World.

Well, these rumors are coming from actual interactions with the people at the Activision booth during the toy fair. They are promoted this like it'll be the next big thing, it wouldn't make sense for them not to release it on multiple platforms. As far as the PC release, I can imagine that if it happens, it wont be anyhting we've ever seen before. The interacion figures allow all consoles and configurations to be a possiblity, because they are not regulated by the system's memory bank, but rather the toys themselves. Kind of a cool way to stick it to the console wars, really.

this article:
http://www.buzzfocus.com/2011/...ul-fun-is-here/

It indicated that the toys make the game independent from each platform, making it as universal as possible. It also listed the iPad as a skylanders platform... strange.

Yes, but the game disc itself is not going to be on PS2.

It meant universal to the platforms it's on, meaning the same toys on portals work across all platforms, without any compatibility differences.

So far, the only platforms we know the game itself will be on are Wii and 3DS.
It is going to have some sort of PC based thing though, as well as a supposed iStore App.

It will probably be on 360 and PS3.

Is it really a surprise that the game isn't on PS2? Besides crappy movie games, there really aren't any games on PS2 now.

It's not that surprising. The PS3 has been around for some time. Skylanders definitely not though, because Activision have stopped making PS2 games.

It's sad, though. I miss it already...
