What kind of music would you like to hear in Skylanders? [CLOSED]

Just felt like discussing this.

I know Hans Zimmer is the music composer for this game, but you don't have to post stuff that sounds like his style. Just post whatever you want(as long as there is no bad language in the songs).

Personally, I don't think they should stick to a particular style. Just be diverse. Anyway:

I could see something like this being a minor boss theme:

I can see something like this being used for an early level(possibly the second level). It has a modern feel, but I can hear those chimey sounds that were often used in Spyro 1:

I can see this being used for a comical cutscene:

That's all I've got at that moment.

I hope they will use some AC/DC songs, and I'm saying this because of the trailer... THUNDERSTRUCK!

Mmm... I looked up some Hans Zimmer and...Wow. His music from Madagascar was really good. I don't expect to hear anything like the Lion King--since that was very stylized--but anything like his other works would be fantastic.

I think it will be a mix of the Legend of Spyro series, and the Spyro, A Hero's Tail.

My hope is for a nice orchestral soundtrack with some electronic minimalism in the form of Zimmer's trademark synthesizers. Maybe a little guitar from frequent collaborator Heitor Pereira or even Johnny Marr, who had some awesome guitar parts in Inception.

^This. Hans Zimmer is very flexible and I am very excited for the music. I died of awesomeness too when I read he was doing the music.

I haven't listened to much Hans Zimmer stuff. I've watched the Lion King, but I didn't see it as special. I just liked some of the songs with lyrics.... *shot*

Zimmer is okay, but he is far from the best composer out there. Let's just say Zimmer doesn't have the best of reputations among many film score fans, but meh. I'm a James Newton Howard fan myself, but I won't go into something that belongs to a film score forum. smilie

Regardless, the music should be fine, but considering the game itself, something lighthearted would be in order, IMO.

James Newton Howard is good, but he isn't quite a light-hearted composer. Zimmer has more experience in "light-heartedness", LOL. Judging by Lion King, Spirit, Kung Fu Panda, etc.

Point taken. Hans has done more animated films than James, and even some of the animated films that James wrote for had a touch of seriousness in them, like Atlantis. Regardless still looking forward to the score. smilie

Zimmer and Newton Howard are both a part of Zimmer's music composition company, Remote Control Studios. Other composers include Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell, Ramin Djawadi, Lorne Balfe, James Dooley, and Steven Jablonsky. <.<;

I rather it be by Stewart Copeland because music like The Dark Knight does not exactly fit into Spyro. Even Daisuke Ishiwatari would be better as some of the music in BlazBlue is a bit Stewart Copeland style such as Carl Clover's theme.
