They are doing what Insomniac did to us when we were kids: Introduce a character, and gain fans. People seem to expect the game to always be targetted towards them. Why would it, especially when a lot of Classic fans have long since moved on to other games, not caring or even knowing if Spyro is still continuing.

That's not a lot of people. A few thousand (maybe more, so don't quote me on that). That pales to the amount of kids they could get to buy this game.

Also, even if Sparx was in this game, people would still complain about Spyro's design and the use of toys, so I doubt it would make a difference.

So does that mean that if you're still a Spyro fan then you must be a little bit strange, because you haven't moved on? Is that what they are saying? And what about Ratchet & Clank, that's pretty much the same. I don't understand it really.

Sparx won't be in this Spyro spin-off game. Sparx doesn't have to be in a game with Spyro to automatically make it a Spyro game, seriously.

You're in no position to tell someone to be quiet just because of their opinion on a game, you two are nothing special to do that. Stop getting so personal about it. Also, I thought you respected everyone's opinon? Because even if you did you wouldn't have a go at them no matter what it is they are saying. It's still an opinion, and it's up to them if they want to shout and cry about it, they're just wasting their own time, so why would you need to worry about it for? I think more people would be like that if they got attention from replies like yours. But then again you should be just ignoring them if you respect their opinon.

I realy think that sparx wouldn't look REALY bad, acording to the fans who actualy like the games desine.If this game had sparx, Im not realy sure many people whould have realy noticed anyhow. I'm thinking that Activision or Toys for Bob decided to get rid of Sparx because all the other characters do not have sidekicks, and I guess it wouldn't make much sense for one character to have one, and all the rest not to. It would be kind of hard to have Sparx with Spyro as a toy I suppose aswell.

Skylanders is a spin-off, Super. A full Spyro game would have Sparx in it, but Skylanders is a spin-off with only Spyro in as the one of the main characters.

I thought that you could have Sparx in a spin-off with Spyro, I thought it wouldn't matter, they could have easily decided not to have him in LoS. Like they didn't have the Professor, and etc.

True, but does making it a spin off actually make any difference? I mean, they didn't have any of the characters from the original trilogy, but they still kept Sparx and Hunter in the third one, and they didn't even have to. I don't think I'm making any sense, probably just talking out of my arse.

Spin-offs are different than the full games in a game franchise.

For example, in Skylanders, Spyro is the title character in this spin-off game, but he's one of the many main characters in the game even though he's supposed to be the one main character. He can be or is easily overshadowed by the other Skylanders that you play other than himself.

In a full Spyro game, Spyro would indeed be the main character who isn't overshadowed by several other main characters in the game, and Sparx would be with him.

Also don't forget how it's also a reboot. Reboots often get rid of most (if not all) side characters, and replaces them with new ones.

Maybe they will make Sparx return again in another couple of years, perhaps Skylanders will only be a one off game? Can spin off games have sequels to them, or do they usually just have the one game?

Spinoff games can have sequels. But I recall them saying that if the game sells well and Spyro becomes popular again, Skylanders will be it's own series, while Spyro could possibly get his own game.
