Yeah pretty much haha. In retrospect the games aren’t that good, downright bad sometimes, but these tracks have made me tear up once or twice. I’ve listened to its scores a lot.

On the topic of mains, I’m predictable. I used the Swap Force a lot.

Yeah same. Usually I'd say, "No one's ever really gone." But that doesn't work here. I'm just glad I was around to see it, the birth and death of the Toys-to-Life genre. I wake up to seeing Zap and Snap Shot on my desk every morning, and somehow seeing those dusty things I spent too much on...it makes it all worth it. I can be like I-Wei Huang, I can be like Lorne Balfe. I can be inspirational.

I miss Skylands.

Skylanders was really something special.

I haven’t played them in years now! I don’t know if they still hold up. I found myself very exasperated with Imaginators though. What continues to be a gripe of mine is that the games didn’t grow up with the audience. It’s all subjective, of course. Skylanders would immediately be improved with violence and swearing.

Moment of silence for the Skylanders comic series. Thanks for trying to give over a hundred characters, y’know, some actual character beyond one-liners and whoops. Also knew how to balance stakes with Skylanders’ signature absurdity.

Still not sure how I feel about Steampunk Malley, but hey, he wasn’t Kaos, so that’s enough for me. It’s a cool idea that he got whooped by Hex so badly he needed to stitch himself together with cosplay.

Malefor spent a lot of time working on his Undead Steampunk King costume for the cosplay competition. He just knew he’d win first place. Unfortunately, he stepped in some bubblegum on the way into the convention center...




Oh and then something with the Dread-Yacht happened and he plummeted off an island into oblivion. The end.

Fun fact: Skylands doesn’t end. There is just more and more sky. So he’s just falling for all eternity haha.

Skylands doesn't end vertically. Go up enough and you do reach the atmosphere in the Light Supercharger Zone, and go down enough and you reach the Underworld which is mostly one solid island. Doesn't mean the fall won't hurt though, as the interview with the author say.

However, what hurts the most - the comic that never was.

Ooooh. Stormblade's backstory confused me. Strata has a nice illustration of something similar, but I think that was supposed to represent different realms, very interstellar-looking. Before SSA, so maybe the lore was still being messed around with. And yeah, I always wondered about the Underworld, since it seemed like T-Bone just opened a door and boom, there you were. I haven't played SSA in years so that might be a little fuzzy.

Well, they were developing concurrently with SSA. They actually had no concrete idea on how Skylands worked until Giants went and expanded some it, but by then, SF is very far in development.

Well, because there’s no fall damage/death implemented (aside from a couple areas, only one which I can think of but there’s probably more), it was probably necessary to teleport back in-bounds to prevent the level needing to be restarted because the character is eternally falling or unable to get back to the level. And with the length of those Giants levels, I’m glad for that.

Because Drawdler mentioned the shininess on SF-SC Spyro. My mind immediately went to one of the worst offenders imo.

To be frank, I think all the near-humans in Skylanders are uncanny. For someone purported to be ugly and just the absolute worst, Kaos is the easiest on the eyes for me, barring maybe a few Skylanders. Little goth man.
