That's what the movie is. I think I summed it up well.

A great film. I need to watch it again soon. Thank you, James Baxter. You're slowly turning me into a horse girl.

They made these horses so expressive! It’s official, I love animated horses. I’ve always loved Khan, the very stylized horse from Mulan. I like Altivo from El Dorado, too.

I WAS SUMMONED. this movie is a very good depiction on how the west was like. Horses are still broke like what was shown in the movie. James Baxter had an actual Kiger Mustang for a model that he drew for studies

Interesting. Now I know what breed Spirit is, so thanks for that! I love his colors, and the real deal isn’t half bad. I have a soft spot Przewalski's and Shetland ponies. I just wish horses weren’t so difficult to draw! I usually end up turning mine into those dog-mouthed demon horses the internet was fond of.

Horses are what I normally draw, and I still have issues. They are very complex animals, their bone structure is so interesting. (So is their genes : ) ) it’s all about the proportions.

Kiger mustangs are the closest decedents of the original mustangs brought here. I could go On.

matt damon horse ancestors, here to liberate the world from oppressors

Look at those itty-bitty prehistoric horses! They were really successful, judging by the massive hooved beasts we have galloping around. It’s cool that they’ve been so important throughout history. I’ve only met one true horse before, a skinny one who looked sad and standoffish. I’ve had several encounters with donkeys though, very cute and gentle.

Viewer beware, you’re in for a scare if you look up newborn foal hooves.

I’ve seen that illustration before in a Zoobooks issue! It’s very neat! Did you happen to see the article where they discover a full frozen ancient foal in, I believe was Siberia?

Horses are very sweet animals, I have 1 of my own. He’s a 21 year old Welsh pony. He’s very skittish but once he’s in an specific mood, he’s very calm and loving

Yep, it’s Zoobooks! The illustrator is Mark Hallet, and he’s done the artwork for all of them I believe. I’ll check out your art when I get home. I’ve drawn canids for basically all my life so I’m rusty when it comes to other animals. It’s a bit hard to keep up with all the frozen mummies. XD I think the last one I heard about was a cave lion cub.

Oh, Welsh ponies look pretty! Horses always look photogenic. Except when they don’t...

I’m also glad the world was blessed with chalicotheres, the gorilla horses.

I do want to point some interesting things out about the Spirit movie. I believe the colonel is supposed to represent Colonel Custer, because In American history, he is the one who dealt with the Lakota/Sioux tribes in the 1880s when we were trying to expand.

Also bareback riding is hard on the body :,)

So when are we going to get a "live action" CGI remake with realistic blank facial expressions on all the characters?

Dreamworks would never.

They’d do one on Shrek first. Exhibit A: Shrek the Musical.
