Which would be more important? (Writing a story, planning a construction, organizing an event, etc.) The idea being so fascinating and promising but flops when to practice, or the idea is so dull and uninspiring but is done up very well anyway? Style or substance is another one that sometimes overlaps with intent vs execution.

i think execution. mediocre things can end up being better than youd think, and big ambitions before proper execution ends up like fyre fest where nobody wins.

execution. a fantastic idea will never be anything more than an idea if it isn’t publicized, even if it comes out mediocre in the end. because a mediocre product has room to grow and once it’s out there everyone can improve it, however a good idea is locked away into only one individuals mind

I think it really depends on the situation.

However, ultimately, what's in one's heart (intent) is the most important, because people can't always control how execution turns out (EX: whatever you're executing gets messed up my outside forces).
